Re: MLB 2K10 Official "My Player" Thread
Oakland A's 2nd baseman here. I just finished my second or third year, but it was my first full year in the majors. I played the first year and half of this year on All-Star, and then slid up to Hall of Fame so my numbers didn't completely rock the stratosphere. I had an amazing season, but nothing impossible and nothing that hasn't been done. .337 67 175. Missed the triple crown by .003 to Mauer, but even worse, lost a 3 game division lead in September and missed the playoffs. I still reached my goal of winning 10 more games than last season, but I really thought we had a shot to move on.
After the season and my team's failure to sign or retain anyone useful, I decided to trade myself to the Yankees (since I was planning on signing there anyway and taking over SS for Jeter who has been moved to DH, if 2k even gave us a damn free agency option. As a lifelong Yankee fan I felt like this would be awesome.)
I'm about to start Spring Training. As far as how I'll do with a full season on Hall of Fame, I'm still expecting big numbers. Last year I switched to HOF in mid July and still hit 15ish more homers. I'm hoping to crack .330 40+ 125+ so I don't become a complete bust after that awesome year. Plus those short porches in the Bronx should do me some help lol.
Bottom line, I didn't make My Player to ride the bench, or have an average career. I'm glad that I'm shaping up to be the best player of possibly all time, but by believable standards.Last edited by davidleenyk; 07-19-2010, 10:45 AM.Comment

Re: MLB 2K10 Official "My Player" Thread
Wow. I am playing this mode on Pro because everytime I started on All Star or with custom sliders it wouldn't give me achievements, so I gave up and started one on Pro.In season number 2...
150 games in
416 hits/688 at bats
78 doubles
30 triples
142 HRs
370 RBIs
293 runs
980 total bases
5 walks
31 strikeouts
.605 avg.
.603 OBP
1.424 SLG
2.028 OPS
.594 RISP
179 steals
85 game hitting streak in there at some point
That's not counting the first half season, that's just the 2nd one.
Team is 127-23.
Top 3 MVP leaders.
Top 5 Cy Young leaders.
I think I'm on pace for 70 homers with an AVG slightly below .500. It seems pretty silly, and I never thought it would be fun to play on an easy difficulty, but I have my franchise for playing competitive games, doing My Player on this level is a fun break.Comment

Re: MLB 2K10 Official "My Player" Thread
I'm not playing on easy. I started on easy but ya see the thing about playing on easy is that when you're on base your teammates are going to suck and your pitching is going to suck and your team isn't gonna win a whole lot because the AI sliders effect ALL of the AI including your teammates. I did move up my hitting sliders.
Won the World Series of course. Had an **** (what the heck? why is that censored?)...awesome series with the Red Sox in the ALDS. It started with a 1 hitter from Felix and ended on my walk off bottom of the 11th HR in game 5. Despite Felix having won the Cy Young he dropped to 89,all the other pitchers were gone too and they didn't deliver Puljos. Won MVP,Sliver Slugger and all that sort of thing except best fielder and very oddly won Comeback Player of the year. Demanded a trade to the Giants. Playing first base now. They wouldn't use Posey at first so I went back to catcher and instead of Garko they used Ishikawa. Went back to 1st and now they're using Posey.
How do you jump straight up? There's often balls hit that just go over my players head and pressing RT just makes him dive.Comment

Re: MLB 2K10 Official "My Player" Thread
I'm playing on All-Star. I'm not sure how far into the season I am right now, I think like 50-60 games. Hitting .371 with 10 HRs and 40 RBIs and 15 SBs.
But more importantly, I just hit a can of corn fly ball to center field and Dexter Fowler DROPPED IT. He got under it to make a nice easy catch and at the last second he realized he misjudged it and tried to reach out and catch it but it hit off the end of his glove. I couldn't believe it.NFL: Bills

Re: MLB 2K10 Official "My Player" Thread
My player is a centerfielder for Texas Rangers... It didnt take a while to get called up, My first AA game was June 9th, and i got called up July 4th. In first season i batted .290, 12 HRs, and 45 RBIs, made it to ALDS and lost in 4 games to the Twins... In my second season now i am doing too good through about 20 games, .505 avg, 8 HRS, 32 RBIs, and 15 sbs.. I like to play realistic games, so i dont know what difficulty to play on where i still will be an MVP canidate but putting up realistic numbers, any suggestions?... Also when will i get the option to request a change in the lineup? I hate batting cleanup because in real baseball Im that fast kid whos a contact hitter lolComment

Re: MLB 2K10 Official "My Player" Thread
I made a southpaw pitcher. He is in AA for the Red Sox. He has a fastball (90 mph) Slurve (83 mph) and Circle Change (78 mph). He is 7-0 with 53 K's and only 6 walks. The first game starting I threw a no-hitter with 10 k's and 5 walks.Comment

Re: MLB 2K10 Official "My Player" Thread
I have made it through an entire season using the "My Player" option. I love this option on the game. I just completed my first year in the majors and my team won the world series. I would love to continue, but I cannot figure out how to start the second season. Anyone have any pointers for me?Comment

Re: MLB 2K10 Official "My Player" Thread
Any tips for HR's on my player. I am a CF in AA for the Brewers and after 18 games have 0 HR's. I am only playing on rookie with classic batting controls. The HR leader on my team has only 38 power and I have 59. Also any tips on stealing. My player doesnt seem to go when I want him to and sometimes with try and steal when I am just leading off.Comment

Re: MLB 2K10 Official "My Player" Thread
Man I am so pissed right now, started a pitcher file and in my 2nd AA game I had a Perfect Game going into the 9th. First batter popped out, 2nd batter grounded out. Now the 3rd was a pinch hitter hitting .500 against RHP so instead of sticking with what got me there I threw a dumb first pitch and he singled. Wasnt mad and was ready to finish off the last guy on my way to a complete game shut out when the CPU decided to put in David Riske. With 2 outs (that I gave him) He ended up loading the bases and giving up 2 runs to tie the game. We ended up winning in the 10th but I was pissed to get a no decision. I went 8 2/3 with 1 hit and 14 strikeouts.Last edited by Trueleader7; 08-01-2010, 08:51 PM.Comment
