Re: Official MLB 2K10 Glitches/Bugs Thread
Had a glitch where I hit a ground ball down the line that originally bounced foul, but it ended up rolling fair before going through first base and rolling into the outfield. It was ruled a foul ball, and should've been ruled fair.
Here's a video exactly of what I experienced, just mine happened down the first base line.

Re: Official MLB 2K10 Glitches/Bugs Thread
From another thread I posted...
As many have stated, the uber-arms on all the fielders. Singles to the outfield should be automatic scores for guys on second base unless it's a line drive that drops right in front of the fielder. Often this is not the case. Why don't we have players on our team meeting us at the plate after a HR? Especially a clutch HR to tie the game and send it into extra innings?
Why are NPC player models so absurdly ugly? At the end of a My Player game, when my SS goes and congratulates the 3B (Adam LaRoche), the 3B model is horrible! Square hat that's too big for his head, ugly blocky textures on his face and body - it's like they just forgot or something.
The dirt on the infield is also quite lackluster. It offers no depth or feel. It's just a perfectly flat brown color. Same with the grass. Points for making the grass higher than the dirt though.
There's also something very wonky about the friction of the ball on the playing field. Often times I'll have a solid hit through the infield that squirts through, only to die about halfway out to the CF and the 2B or SS is 90+ feet away from the bag, picking up what the CF should have. Same with some high pops - we have 2B and SS roaming into the OF where the LF, CF or RF should be making the play.
Routes that AI outfielders take to the ball are frankly ********. Oftentimes they'll take a wrong route and miraculously fix it just before the catch - I suppose that's better than in 2K9 when they just completely let the fly ball pass them by for triples. Cutoff men are out of position and magically skate to where the fielder throws the ball. Base runners for the other team are speedsters down the base path to first on infield hits. Double plays are difficult to come by, even on well hit balls up the middle to the SS or 2B.
Then there's the annoyance that it feels like 25% of the game is played on FF. Animations, while fluid and looking great, needlessly speed up and ruin the flow of the game. We've all seen those ridiculous pick off attempts. Transitions between animations are lackluster at best - transitioning from moving to the ball and then magically stopping all your forward momentum and becoming planted is frustrating. Catchers are dart throwers to second base every time.
AI base runners are ******** with how long they wait to see if a ball drops before advancing - even when it's quite clear it's a hit. So many RBI's are lost to runners who don't make up their mind soon enough. I also notice that with two outs, runners on second don't take an angle back lead.
There are also the pitchers that are just absurdly outstanding fielders. As a SS in My Player, at least once or twice a game, I'm seeing my pitcher make fast-reflex catches on line drives back at him. Not to mention pitchers not getting injured while taking hits. I've smashed a line drive at a pitcher that bounced off his foot and dribbled 2ft away from him - and was thrown out by the pitcher. No injury to him either. We also can't forget those cheetah-reflex infielders who suck up line drives and ground balls like no tomorrow.
Why do we have pitchers throwing 130+ pitches in My Player mode, giving up 4+ runs and are still pitching in the 8th+? Why does the AI manager leave my My Player pitcher in the game for 8+ innings when I've given up 3+ runs? Why do AI pitchers stamina never go down?
Also - what about right side drills for the pitcher? Why is my pitcher so slow to come off the mound on a ground ball to the 1B? Every time they've hit one to the 1B, he's done the super-speed run to the bag to get the batter out. Why isn't my pitcher running up the line to cover?
There's so much I like about this game that it's the combination of all these little things I see throughout a game that frustrates me. How close 2K10 was to greatness, just to fall short with a lack of polish.
I sincerely hope they have the time/money to make a concerted effort to polish up these numerous annoyances. If they do, this could be one of the best PC games since MVP 05 (or ever).Last edited by CybrSlydr; 03-11-2010, 03:15 AM.Comment

Re: Official MLB 2K10 Glitches/Bugs Thread
Yeah, I'm trying to find out why mine is terrible. I mean I literally swing WAY before the pitch (I'll have to record it somehow) and you'll see that on screen it takes over a fifth of a second to respond, which is plenty unresponsive for something like baseball. I don't know what the issue is, but it's bugging me.
Again, odd. Cutters and two-seamers break a LOT. Re: Official MLB 2K10 Glitches/Bugs Thread
Didn't really get much of a response in my thread (I missed this thread until after I posted it) so I'll copy it here and see if anyone else has had this issue:
I don't know if it's been mentioned, but I just had something come up again that happened to be the day of release. I though I may have accidentally done it on the first day so I ignored it, but this time I know I didn't.
So here's the problem, I was playing with the Mariners during spring training and I wanted to get my other catchers some playing time so I Pinch hit Josh Bard for Rob Johnson, everything's fine and dandy, but then I go to field in the next inning and Renteria hits it to right field and instead of Ichiro, it somehow has Cesar Jimenez out their playing in the field. How does this happen?? Ichiro was scheduled to leadoff the next inning, I don't know if that somehow has anything to do with it. Jimenez wasn't even on the mound though. I really don't understand why or how this has happened?
Has anyone else encountered this, was it mentioned in the 2k patch thread? Is their a fix?Comment

Re: Official MLB 2K10 Glitches/Bugs Thread
So, I am wicked pissed right now. I spent the first week playing the game in my player mode. Had an amazing season going - my team just made the playoffs after a 1 game playoff to see who would win the division. But after that game...nothing happens next. The game won't start the playoffs...if I go to the calendar it's blank for the next several months until the off-season starts. If I try and simulate to the off-season, it just move the calendar ahead, but nothing happens. I can do this for years and years...but the game will not let me play or complete the season I had going. Basically, a weeks worth of time has been wasted. I don't know if it's my disc or what...like I said, totally pissed off, this is B.S.!Comment

Re: Official MLB 2K10 Glitches/Bugs Thread
Don't know if this has been mentioned already or not, but I get the slow mo glitch during Clutch Moments.
You walk up to the plate with the slow mo going full on, and you get a shot of the pitchers intense face. This holds for awhile, and next thing you know the pitch is already on top of you by the time it goes back into normal view.
And this will happen again and again everytime the camera changes views(foul balls, pick offs, etc.)
Makes it difficult to get a hit, you barely have any reaction time.Comment

Re: Official MLB 2K10 Glitches/Bugs Thread
That's a double switch, and I agree that it's a key aspect of NL baseball and needs to be in the game. I think it was in a game in the past, but I forget which one."Baseball is the coolest sport because, at any moment, the catcher can stop the game and go tell the pitcher a secret" - Rob FeeComment

Re: Official MLB 2K10 Glitches/Bugs Thread
I had a strange glitch in my player on PC.
I was on third base with no outs. There was a runner on first. It was 3 in the AM and I had been playing for like 10 hours, so I was very tired. The pitcher threw over to first on a pickoff play. Normally on pickoff plays, my player gets back himself. Not if it's thrown to a different base. The first baseman takes off running and I'm like 'what is he doing?' He proceeds to throw me out at third. Immediately the 'goal' screen pops up and says 'score from third on the sacrifice fly' and there is now one out. I was thrown out at third, the out was counted, but I got to stay at third!
Also, as I'm sure hundreds are saying, no injuries and no errors is kind of a game killer for me. I've stopped playing until it's fixed, which on PC, might be never.Go Colts, Go Irish!!

Re: Official MLB 2K10 Glitches/Bugs Thread
I'm a big fan of when you pick someone off but they're called safe, and they get up off the ground throwing a tantrum and trot back to the dugout and then just reappear on the base again because they were called safe for whatever reason...NFL: Bills

Re: Official MLB 2K10 Glitches/Bugs Thread
I had a player over-run first (without rounding the base or make a turn towards second) on a bloop hit to CF only to be called out when they threw over to 1B at the end of the play. I checked the replay of it and there was no intent or move made towards second... I was left scratching my head.Comment

Re: Official MLB 2K10 Glitches/Bugs Thread
Had a weird stat glitch tonight. For some reason after the top of the first inning nothing was being tracked in the game tracker. After the game, the relievers that pitched were not in the box score. Luckily it only effected the box score, the pitchers had correct amount of innings and stuff that happened during the game. Just weird it didn't show up in the box score.Comment

Re: Official MLB 2K10 Glitches/Bugs Thread
My player Mode starting Pitcher. Up 6-0 in the 7th inning.
Runners on 1st and 3rd with 1 out.
Ground ball to the SS who then throws it to the Catcher rather than going for the Double Play.
So rather than going for the inning ending Double Play which would have prevented the run from scoring he tries to get the guy at home which wasn't even close.
End result? Safe at Home, 2nd and 1st.Comment
