Re: Official MLB 2K10 Glitches/Bugs Thread

I hope this has been mentioned at some point:

Pitchers throwing nothing but fastballs right down the middle against opposing hurlers, hence the reason why pitchers' batting averages are so high.

No joke: Joe Blanton is batting .403 with 7 home runs and 21 RBIs on August 1st in my franchise.

I always wondered why people were so upset about it, because I never noticed cpu pitchers regaining their stuff. I'll have to check it out if it happens again, and see the initial speed for the pitcher and what it is after it resets.

That said, there is a major AI managment glitch. Anytime you put up more than 2 first inning runs on an AI pitcher, the CPU pinch hits for him. They need to patch this so that pitchers stay in until they give up at least 4 runs, maybe 5.
Yup, the AI management overall in this game needs some work. The mets took out Santana after giving up 2 runs in 2 innings earlier this year against me, it was a real head scratcher.

Plays at the plate are garbage, it needs to be patched, its a HUGE gameplay flaw and thats all I really care about when it comes to bugs and glitches, if gameplay is good, realistic and fun I can deal with anything else but if the CPU throws home from the outfield its always cut off making it sooooo easy to score for the human and when the human throws home and the CPU is out by a mile the catcher does some sorta weird swipe tag and the CPU runner is safe, I mean cmon 2K plays at the plate make or break baseball games in real life and in this game there terrible from either Human or CPU point of view, patch it please

So i was playing the cardinals in my cubs franchise. The pitcher spot is up for them, but they pinch hit for him. It's none other than the injured ryan ludwick. Yep, he's injured for 100 plus days and i assume on the dl, but he somehow is able to pinch hit. I guess this just further proves that injuries do not exist in this game.

Since the latest roster update, When I go to the 2K Insider page the game freezes not on the 1st page but when you go to look at the next page it freezes. It's froze 2 times on me. I'm not gonna try it again because I don't want to mess up my 360. Has anyone else seen this?

Adam Wainwright had a no hitter through 7 innings against me in my cubs franchise today, and the cardinals replaced him in the 8th when he still had yet to let up a hit. I was dissapointed when I saw this, I truly believe I would've been no hit. His stuff was, I guess how you would say, unhittable. I did break up the no hitter off the reliever, but still lost the game 2-0.

So apparently on the league injury list it shows Ludwick as being on the DL, but I went to the cardinals roster and they only had 24 people other than him, so teams just lose a roster spot for simulations when a player gets injured it seems. The DL is non existent I guess?

Wainwright pitched a perfect game against me and struck out 18. I was so frustrated. Even when I hit it hard it was right at someone, but his speed changes had me baffled. Never even been close being no-hit before, but for some reason that game I had no chance of hitting anything. No plate discipline that game.

Same for me, first time I've checked it out. Crashed my 360 twice. I had to power it down, then back on, normally, all I have to do is eject the disc, but that didn't help

                    For PC Version:

Here's a few things that could be fixed:

                    1. Running to 1st base all runners turn the wrong way. They break towards second which if tagged they would be out.

                    2. All fielder arms are way too strong. This has been mentioned about 1,000 times.

                    3. I can't figure out how to make my infielders dive. I'm playing the PC version with a wireless Logitech gamepad - I have button 1 mapped but no dive.

                    4. CPU pitchers are left in way too long. I've played games where the starters have thrown over 110 pitches. I even have the sliders toned down. Plus the computer needs to swap pitchers on mtach ups - lefty on left hanxed hotter etc.

                    5. Relay throws by the CPU are constantly cutoff - this would be fine if the infielder is just off the infield grass but the game cuts off the throw when the fielder is 30' from home. WTF?

I like the game though. Keep improving the game. In a couple of years this game will be awesome.

Number 5 is my biggest gripe of this game, kills plays at the plate and makes it way too easy to score runs..........also when human throws home the catcher does some stupid animation that makes the cpu safe

The box scores in My Player are not always right, often it leaves off a pitcher. Earned/unearned runs are not calculated right either, my last game Jonathon Sanchez threw 6 innings gave up 6 unearned runs, no earned runs. But according to the game, there was only one error and the opposing team scored 3 in the first and 3 in the sixth.

Another one I just noticed. In my player I made the playoffs and all my good relievers got left of the playoff roster in favor of the scrub September callups. The relievers that got sent down were all high 70's, the callups were high 60's. One other thing that has been bugging me is the first pitch the pitcher throws every at bat is about 5 mph slower than their ratings, but every pitch after that is near max. I've only played my player so I'm not sure if it is specific to this mode.

I didnt read every page, but I've read most of them & didn't see this. I've now had 3 franchise files that cannot be loaded because of an error message. I'm not sure but I think it may be that I just turn off the console from in game, like in the franchise screen. I've not seen the problem if (I don't think) if I make sure to save manually. but many times I've just let it autosave and it loads up fine. I do have autosave on, maybe that is the problem? Has anyone else had corrupted franchise files? I never had a problem with "my player" saves, and I played 1 and a half seasons and played every game.

You have to HOLD the RB button to get the catcher to apply the tag. This also works on plays at 3rd base(haven't had any plays at 2nd yet).
