I just wish the announcers would tell us what number of Home-Run each player hit throughout the season in an ongoing tally.

Re: MLB 2K11 Wishlist
I love a lot of the ideas in this forum, and I would hope that the developers actually listen to some of them.
Here is one that I haven't really seen yet:
1) What about adding a rivalry feature to the overall game, or just the franchise mode itself. Have the franchise mode start out with the normal rivalries in baseball (i.e. Red Sox/Yankees), but let it evolve. Say the Orioles are much improved as you go through the franchise, and they start competing and knocking either the Sox or Yankees out of the playoffs, etc. Well then let the rivalry system kick in and recognize that. The rivalries could be graded from mild to intense, and let that have implications, such as rivalry games are a little more difficult. Also, in a rivalry game, the players and managers may be more on edge, for example, if you hit a player with a pitch, make sure there is retaliation by the cpu. And if the retaliation continues, things escalate, and players charge the mound, etc. Also, if things do escalate to that point, maker sure there are consequences such as injuries and suspensions for the player's involvement. This would add a realistic aspect to the game, and provide a new wrinkle for the franchise mode.
2) I love the idea of being able to argue close or blown calls with your manager, with implications like possibly being thrown out of the game, etc. I know there are times when I am frustrated with some balls and strikes calls, or a blown call at first... well let me show that frustration by arguing. If I do get kicked out, than the implication can be that I cannot control my bench or bullpen for the rest of the game. Make sure there are real managers in the game and give them ratings, and even include past managers that aren't managing right now but may be looking for a job like Bobby Valentine. Maybe even include an option to make retiring players coaches and managers, like say when Jason Varitek retires, have the ability to make him a Bench Coach or something. Or if Derek Jeter retires, have the ability to make him a Hitting Coach, etc.
3) I saw the idea for a create-a-stadium, and I think that is a great idea. But don't give us a cookie cutter version, make sure there are aspects to this feature that enable the user to create a unique looking stadium. Along the same lines, there should be the ability to move (ala the Madden games) or create a team in franchise mode. And if you create a team, don't accomplish this by simply copying players from other teams, do it the right way. Allow for an expansion draft, and then make the user fill out the roster and develop the franchise that way.
4) Love the idea of a rule 5 draft, arbitration, September call ups, and all of those types of features. Make the user feel like the GM in the franchise mode, and force them to make tough decisions.
5) Allow player personalities to be in the game. Personalities like "dirt dog" (Dustin Pedroia), or "greedy", "hometown hero", etc. Even something like "fragile" or something similar for players who normally wont play through injuries, and one like "ironman" for one who will. And let those have implications, such as when a "greedy" player enter's free agency, he goes after the money. If a "hometown hero" enters free agency, let him take less money or give more weight towards his hometown team (like a Derek Jeter).
Overall, I love a lot of the ideas in this forum, and think if the developers actually listen to them, the game could be improved a lot.Comment

Re: MLB 2K11 Wishlist
I'll preface this by stating that I am saying this respectfully:
One of my wishes is that 2K does not mislead their customers anymore.
If you tell me that there is not a cap for how many players that can be edited, let it be so. Don't let people find out that after 150+ edits or so, no more can be made and not follow through with an explanation or apology.
This was especially frustrating for me because I did a lot of roster editing for the top prospects/minor leagues in last year's game, and I felt so much of my time was wasted.

Re: MLB 2K11 Wishlist
I think that there should be a three-level system for mound visits. The first should be a catcher visit, which can be done as many times, but if done too many times in a row or overall, the umpire will warn you first to knock it off, then eject both the catcher and pitcher if it continues. During a catcher visit, you can plan out the next 5-8 pitches of the at-bat so that there is no constant shaking off until you get the pitch you want. The second level should be a visit by the pitching coach, which can be done only three times, but raises the composure of the pitcher for that at-bat. The final type of visit would be from the skipper himself. This type of visit should only be allowed once, in the most critical moment of the game. It should give the pitcher composure and a stamina boost for the rest of that inning. As far as taking out a pitcher, obviously the manager can come out as many times as he wants too. I say all of this because it's kind of weird for me too see Joe Girardi come out of the dugout in the 1st inning if A.J. Burnett gets the bases loaded and his composure goes way down and i can't control his pitches. It just doesn't seem realistic.Last edited by ExtraT34; 12-27-2010, 06:50 PM.Comment

Re: MLB 2K11 Wishlist
Here is a list of ideas and changes taken mostly from this forum that I think should be included in next year's game:
-Ability to step off mound as a pitcher/call time as a batter
-Players should wear their respective team's uniforms during the All-star Game
-Fix the Fatigue in Franchise- Pinch hitters/Defensive replacements should not lose stamina for one at-bat/playing the field for a few innings
- DH's should not fatigue as much as a position player (Half-day off)
-More errors
-More injuries
-The Ability to cancel a throw (Seriously, they should've just left this in)
-The Ability to fake a throw during a rundown (They should've left this in too)
-Better hit variety- Infield Choppers
- Infield Tappers
- These kind of batted balls give guys with speed a chance of picking up more hits
-More popups
-Bring back the ability to argue calls (This was awesome in 2K7)
-Pitchers should be thrown out after hitting multiple batters (This is just sad. I can keep hitting guys and the ump won't even warn me)
-Give the user the choice of either charging the mound or taking first base after being hit.
-Add a light snowing condition! (This would be awesome.)
-Add rainouts/postponed games for franchise mode (C'mon I mean some of these features were in the game before and they just took them out for no reason)
-Make the user controlled pitcher more likely to walk a batter instead of giving up a base hit. (In every year of my franchise, I've finished the season in last place in giving up walks by an unrealistic amount. I also can't remember the last game I pitched where I didn't give up at least 8-10 hits.)
-More stances/windups
-Ability to send/recieve cash considerations in a trade
-The choice on whether or not to offer Arbitration
-Include player/club/mutual options,opt-out clauses, and no-trade clauses in contracts
-Batting practice before a game
-Warm up pitches with your starter, then with your reliever if you bring him in
-Give the choice of a regular, inside, or first to third pickoff move
-Score a stolen base late in a game when the team is up by 2 or more runs as defensive indifference if the catcher does not throw down
-Make the catcher drop his mask when he goes to field popups and infield tappers (This would look very realistic)
-There should be a celebration for walk-off hits just like there would be for a walk-off homerun. And if a guy hits a walk-off, I think it would be cool if he got pied in the face while giving an interview like they do in real life.
-There should be better celebrations for a no-no/perfecto.
-Get rid of the defensive swing (Personally, I think it's useless.)
-More FOUL BALLS!! I never feel like I'm actually in a plate battle because at most, I'm gonna foul off maybe 1-2 balls! This is not how an at-bat looks on t.v.
-The three types of mound visits I described in my other post.
-Custom walk-up music
-More home runs should be pulled
-Team Chemistry that can be effected depending on who you bring onto your team.
-A Celebration for the NL and AL pennant
-A better World Series Celebration (I haven't made it there yet, but from what I've seen, a lot of people have a problem with it.)
-Better animations all-around (The fielders move very slow, and then all of a sudden very fast when they get to the ball. And they move from one motion to the other without any fluidity. Shameful!)
-Relievers should stop warming once they are done warming up. (This is one of the most annoying and unrealistic things in the game that 2K has yet to address.)
-Allow the user to put a pitcher in before the inning is over. (If I make a double-switch and have my hitter pitching, I don't want to see him on the mound when I start an inning. As minor as it is, it would make the game more realistic)
-Give the option to keep retired numbers off limitsComment

Re: MLB 2K11 Wishlist
1.) Weather: In 2k10 there is no rain. Add rain delays and post pone games for double headers.
2.) Errors: In 2k10 my shortstop will get a grounder like 30 feet away from him
3.) Injuries: In 2k10 there are no in game injuries.
4.) Better Hits: in 2k10 there are little to no foul pop-ups and there are no choppers or tappers
5.) Fielding Animations: In 2k10 the ball will go right to my pitcher, he will hesitate for a second and then he will do a dramatic spin throw thing. Also an outfielder will casually field a grounder with runners on and it will cost me a run or two.
6.) Base Running: I absolutely hate when my runners will hitch on a dive back or slow down when he is stealing.
7.) Online My Player Mode: You should have a league of 10 - 15 people and enter an actual draft and play against each other.
8.) My Player Mode: You should be able to be traded and become a free agent. When your contract is up you will be automatically re-signed.
9.) Living Rosters In Franchise: If you want the real rosters in franchise mode you need to do it yourself and it is just annoying.
10.) Graphics: Fix the crowd. The fans are made of paper! and make the surrounding area of the field more realistic.
11.) Player Pictures: Not a big deal but it would be nice to have the pictures updated.
12.) Announcers: Get a new crew of announcers like the team form MLB Network or use the real team announcers like Don and Jerry for the Red Sox
13.) Stadium Relocation: It would be nice to move a team like the Mets to somewhere like Hawaii.
14.) Better Celebrations: When my team wins the World Series the just jump around in a circle. They should be in a pig-pile and you should see the WS trophy and WS MVP trophy being presented.
15.) Batting Practice: Have the ability do take some BP and infield before a game
16.) Training Drills: I love to play these drills but they should be available in Spring Training
17.) Inforce Retired Numbers: I don't want to see players with # 8 on teams like the Red Sox or Yankees.
18.) Argues/ Ejections: Be able to argue calls and be ejected for it and hitting multiple batters
19.) Trades: Use a trade-block so you can see who is up for trade and use cash considerations
20.) Contracts: Use no-trade clauses and have player wants for contracts. Also make big name players harder to sign, I can sign Adrian Gonzalez very easily.
21.) Charge The Mound: I want the ability to charge the mound and start the fight
Even Though I have a lot of wants for MLB 2K11 I loved 2K10 with all the problems
