    Re: MLB 2K11 Wishlist

I wanted to give some feedback based on my play experience from 2K10. I played quite a few games. I was a player, not a simmer. Hopefully some upcoming developer blogs will note some of the problems I had to make me interested in 2K11.

    DIFFICULTY (OFFENSE):
Pro was too easy (my team hit well over .300). All Star was too hard (my team could barely manage .200). Any custom sliders in between felt like a punishment to the player since you could no longer unlock anything. Minor quibble, maybe, but please remove that restriction. Who cares about the few people that would put sliders down to zero just to get achievements? As a true fan, I was being punished for playing custom sliders where every setting was technically harder than the Pro difficulty. It's dumb.

The thought of DYNAMIC difficulty would be interesting. The computer runs a process every 10 games or so and sees that your team is hitting .350 and auto adjusts the contact slider. Or the computer sees that you never give up home runs and beefs up the CPU power so you do. Or they see that you never walk anyone and make your precision tougher. That would be great (as long as they used some restraint and didn't go overboard).

    ERRORS / INJURIES:
Is obviously a no-brainer, so I'll just mention it and not talk more.

    DIFFICULTY (PITCHING):
Fun but still too easy. I'd rarely give up homers or walks. It was too common (especially in my player, where I was a pitcher) to have a high BAA but a really low ERA. Instead of mistake pitches punishing the pitcher by being a strike, make it so a mistake more often ends up being a ball. That would be interesting.

Also the CPU only tended to hit homers if it was high in the zone. Naturally, I started to pitch low. Something needs to be tweaked (either the CPU can anticipate and golf one out, or I get wild and throw high strikes).

    GOOD PLAYERS TOO GOOD:
Maybe make slumps an aspect of the game. Make it obvious with ratings freely available in game. Let a rookie with low stats be worth using since he's on a hot streak. Even with fatigued players (and especially with no injuries) I never noticed a difference with my offensive players' productivity.

Funny how a lot of these suggestions were already in one of the earlier 360 MLB 2K games.

For the past few years i've begged for this...pitching would be much more if you can have the option to turn off the pitch cursor...if you can do it in a two player game you should be able to do it when you play the computer

              * It's time for 2K to be the first of the baseball titles that includes a catcher removing and tossing his mask while blocking the plate, or to field a bunt or a popup behind the plate. That would be innovative.

I'm sorry if someone else replied or responded to this already, but I just saw this and wanted to quickly note that The Show had the catcher pulling off his mask, implemented in '10.

2K11 did add a lot of animations...they just need to focus on cleaning them up and smoothing out transitions!
