Nice to hear success stories from ppl got some steals. BTW could you guys tell me your pitch speed? Cause I found it pretty interesting which duke said like below.

I once had a 4 step lead with Ryan Theriot(82 speed) got a great jump off of Randy Wolf, he threw a 70 mph curve, and still got thrown out by Greg Zaun who has a 66 throwing strength.

So I think it might be possible if you have the pitch speed at default, but if you have it way up like me, good luck.
Just want to check if there is any relationship in pitch speed and steal. it could be just me...but do me a favor

I bumped up the base runner speed to 60 (think it's 60 anyway) and can finally steal. I want to add a properly to that but I'm not entirely sure. At the very least I'm not getting thrown out on changeups anymore, pitch speed is still at default. Plus there's the 1st and 3rd glitch for real easy steals.

Now if only there could be something done about the AI stealing...

Bumping up runner speed make raise steal success rate in the ideal world. I am gonna test it with changing pitch speed and runner speed after get back home. Thanks

How do you slide head first? I hit up on the right stick but didn't notice it.

That right there is more proof that the stealing in this game is broken. That's ridiculous.

Does increasing runner speed help? If so, that may also counter-balance the cannon arm problem?

Hey, guys. Dave was right. Steal system is totally broken. My usual pitch speed is at 95. I've never got a steal.

Today I changed the speed down to 10. Yes, at 10. Now I got 3 steals with 3 trial. Even at 3rd, no problem.

                2K...please fix it!!!

I can steal just fine. I wouldn't say it's "totally broken."

One thing I tried with success was decreasing the throw strength of the catcher I'm about to play against. Decreasing it by about 10 to 20 clicks will at the very least, slow up the CPU's throw to second. Seems only fair to even the playing-field.

If you are afraid of the possibility of skewed stats among CPU vs CPU simmed games (if the catcher's throwing rating is not changed back), then change the throwing strength back to what is was after you complete your non-simmed game/series.

                      Just an idea.

good idea, I just wish we didn't have to keep changing sliders for it to work.

No. I 100% agree. But I DID succeed on a steal. One thing I wonder though with some MLB-gamers... there are other "small-ball" tactics to get that guy to second and third. Work the count... if the pitcher is behind in the count 2-1, 3-1, guess what, he's probably going to throw a fastball (not the best pitch to steal on).

Also, I have to trust that the Inside Edge reports aren't broken, find out when that pitcher is likely to throw a slow breaking ball (ahead in the count usually). That's the PERFECT pitch to break on.

Last bit of advice.... look at the pitcher's delivery. A long wind-up... get ready to run!

So, While the game stealing may be broken, toning down the catcher's arm mixed in with some "real world baseball" strategy, stealing can become part of your game.

Next year they need to give us a user steal speed slider to counter balance the increased pitch speed(if you increase it).

If you have base running on auto, will guys attempt steals on their own?
