Yup - PS3 still has the issue but so does the 360. Manager AI with regards to pitching changes may be worse than the actual fatigue issue imo.

So does this happen all the time, i.e. the starters stay in the whole game?

No. Starters sometimes go way too long but they usually get yanked eventually. It's the first reliever that comes in that stays too long. If he doesn't get hit hard he pretty much goes the rest of the way even if brought in the 4th inning.

Had both now just own 2K10. The fun factor and freshness of the game is better for me. Plus, MLB Today is just down right awesome! I like have a choice for once in baseball games. Good job 2k.

grabbed the show again used for a rental and am playing that as well, while waiting for 2k's patch.

the realism keeps me playing it, but its still stale and boring.

2k is new and fresh and dare i say has a much richer color palette.

problem is hit variety and IA management and CPU brain.

i could go back and forth, with which game has one thing i love that the other doesnt.
i do LOVE the lighting and color of 2k tho,
as well as the variety of start times, matching the real schedule.
for example, the yanks played the sox this weekend IRL, the start times, 7:10, 3:40 and 8:05, were just that in 2k

in the show, they were 7pm, 7pm, and 1pm

Here's my deal, I no longer own my PS3 and I owned both on the PS3, believe it or not I played 2k10 on the PS3 more this year then the Show, the Show had to many franchise issues for my taste this year it was a completely turned off, even though I always have loved the show.

Now I own the 360 version of 2k10 and I think it is better then the PS3 version, it looks better and to me play a better. I really enjoy 2k10 this year, I think 2k did a great come back job with it.

It may sound crazy but my not goes to 2k this year.

2K10 actually seems better all around to me this year. Just my opinion.

Most people feel that way as evidenced by how many more copies of the Show have been sold vs. 2K10. I do think that people new to baseball gaming will probably prefer the Show. For some of us that have played the Show a lot, 2K10 is a breath of fresh air despite some of the flaws. I have no problem saying that the Show is far more polished than 2K10 but I still stick with 2K10 (analog controls, batter/pitching camera angles, commentary, slower pitch speed as my main reasons why).

I have both games, MLB 2K on the PC. Its a real shame because 2K has never gotten baseball right in all the years. This year's game is probablly close to being as good as they have gotten but they still arent even close to capturing the essence of the sport and the individual players as they have done so well in their NBA 2K franchise.

The game does a great job with the presentation and stat tidbits/factoid popups throughout the game but the game simply falls flat in the actual gameplay. Players do not demonstrate distinct attributes, personalities and styles. Animations lack natural lifelike fluidity. They are stiff and robotic. There are virtually no errors, all players have unrealistic rocket arms and only a small variety of animations for given fielding situations making gameplay start to repetitive. Ball physics and variety feels as tho it has regressed in comparison to 2K8's version. The overall game plays a very basic fundamental game of baseball similar to something you would find back in 1999. Advanced situations really exploit this game's pedestrian AI.

I love NBA 2K10, I love their NHL hockey franchise and thought they were so much more advanced than Madden with their NFL 2K series but baseball has always been the game that they just couldnt get right.

I hardly ever play MLB 2K10 and have been pretty much absorbed in my Show 2010 franchise. It's a shame, because I really wanted MLB 2K10 to be good...but it's really not. Its just too simple of a game. It lacks all the baseball subtleties and layers of depth that make for a great game.

                            +1

The Show is more polished, but MLB 2k is simply more fun to play.

I can't go back to not having a right stick to hit. I LOVE that gameplay mechanic.
