Dang, I didn't even know they had a create a team feature. I haven't played their game since 2k7. So you can only use them in exhibition?

If they keep the create a team feature in, I hope they have an expansion mode. This alone would be a first day purchase as I have been anxiously waiting for this mode to make it into next gen.

Don't know if you're interested but here is a video to the create-a-team in 2k10.

Not bad at all. Thanks duke. I really hope they allow us to use this in franchise. Even if we have to swap a team out, I'm sure many gamers will use this feature.

I spent the last 3 seasons playing MLB: The Show on the PS3, and it deserves all the praise that it gets - but I'm rather burnt out on it, and I've never played MLB (and by the sounds of things, maybe that's for the best).
But, I've since relegated my PS3 to being my Blu-ray player, and I got a 360 for gaming.

Another reason is NBA 2K11. Now, I'm not expecting that quality, but if MLB can even be in the ballpark (pun intended), that would be great. I also love the MLBN Today integration, as well as the commentary from the ESPN guys.

And finally, The Show isn't perfect. It's incredible, but it takes way too long to play game, and the animations and overall presentation haven't changed from year to year. As I said, I'm getting tired of it.

Is anyone else looking forward to MLB 2K11, and if so, why?
In past years, I've had the same rationale as you for looking forward to a 2k game...2k Basketball was excellent, The Show felt repetitive, and MLB 2k always promised to improve, plus it would be something "different."

However, because the overall quality of the game was far inferior to the Show, I have always returned to the Show. Perhaps this year will be different - but then agian, that's what I've been saying for the last few years now.

I know most people on here probably don't care about this, but a small feature I would like to see in 2K11 is the ability to use custom sliders and still be able to earn achievements. 2K10 was fun but very frustrating on default difficulty levels. No clue why they didn't do this last year.

I agree. It would be such an easy bone to throw to us. Who cares how easy it is to pick up achievements? We just want to play the game in manner we find fun.

Many times, most of my sliders made the game harder. I made it much easier to hit HR's, though, becasue I used the contact wing 90% (or more) of the time. I found a better balance doing this, becasue it provided more realistic HR numbers to lower level hitters.

I wasn't ever trying to game the system. But even if I was, so what?

I think I only achieved 4% trophies on the game because my custom sliders negated everything. I hope they fix that.

I'm one of those in curious mode right now. I've been playing MLB09 for last couple of years, but since SCEA is more focused in areas other than franchise, I'm definitely looking forward to the feedback on MLB2k11. If 2K can somewhat mirror NBA2k and fix the gameplay, stas, progression etc. it be hard to pass up this year.

Re: Why I'm looking forward to MLB 2K11

I'm really looking forward to the game. Currently playing both the show 09 and mlb 2k10.
As good as the show is, somehow i like mlb2k10 more.
But seriously, they have to fix the fielding which is too automatic, the strong throwing arms (which is i think because of bad cam angles), the stuttering at pickoffs, the really bad replays (you can't see whats happening at all) add homerun celebrations and a crowd that goes wild when you hit one, put in injuries and errors. For the ps3 they have to fix the graphics as well, day games look great (if a little jaggy) but the nightgames look terrible.

If they can sort this out, which should not be too hard, i will be happy to play it again.
The pitching and batting is aboslute fun to do!
As good as the show is, it is too repetative for me (been playing it since the ps2).

Come on 2k, fix this and the game will be good.

I really hope they have fix the Camera Issue which never saves in your settings once you back-out of a game.

As far as what I'm looking forward to. I'm looking forward to a game with:

                      • Updated Animations (Running, Fielding, Throwing & Batting)

                      • A more in tune Presentation (Camera to Field/Camera to Players) while, during & after @ bats & plays.

                      • Unlimited CAP, so our Roster Community can tweak to their hearts content

                      • More User Control & Less CPU control when Fielding

                      • A fully working Franchise Mode that has Sept. Call-Ups. This includes correct player salaries.

This pretty much sums it up. Something that is fun to play now that has lasting appeal so that the game still, for the most part, works 1,2,5 or 10 seasons down the road.

It is just frustrating to get involved in the game to find out that in your second season, a calculation error causes all the stats to go hay-wire and become completely unrealistic. If they can avoid an error of this magnitude, I will be mostly happy. I don't mind seeing the rare statistical oddity (in fact sometimes it can be enjoyable)...just make it believable.

                          Great list Joe.

I also really hope they improve the stealing. I love the controls, but end result of the stealing process can be frustrating. Sometimes it seems like you get a good jump and it looks like you're going to get in well ahead of the throw/tag, but then it hitches up and you slide almost in slow motion, especially when trying to steal third. It's pretty annoying, especially in My Player, which is mainly what I play (it's addicting). My guy has a speed rating of 99 and this still happens. If they make some of these tweaks, I'll be really happy because I still play My Player in 2K10 quite frequently.

I am hoping and praying that 2K11 will simply be a bug-free version of 2K10.

I loved last years game, but no errors and injuries, plus all the bugs made it a waste of time.

I dont care if they updated graphics, stadiums, player pictures, gameplay mechanics... blah blah blah... I DONT CARE...... I just want a bug free game.

The most important bug-fixes and stat fixes being

                            -Errors and Injuries
-Proper progression/regression of guys OVR skill at seasons end
-Realistic ERA's in simmed games, instead of 4.00+ for eveyrone
-Proper BOB totals in simmed games (which leads to severe regression.)
-There are no ejections for beaming batters
-Be able to negotiate contract extensions mid season
-Batters dont get RBI's for sac-flys
-Players turn into generic bald models if promoted/demoted
-AI outfielders dont try to throw out guys running for Sac-Fly's.
-Players fatigue does not drop in super-sim as it should
-Inherited runners lead to earned runs on the releiver, not the guy who was originally on the mound.

UG... and thats just a few of the bugs from last years game. There was like 45 or something. Most never got patched.

*crosses fingers in hopes that for once; 2K cant put out a baseball game without 1.5 million bugs, anomolies, and stat tracking issues.*

Why I'm looking forward to 2K11?

Simple: Perhaps this is the freaking year they get the Rockies jersey correct, but I doubt it.

Is it so much to ask? IS IT?
