My main thing I want is no huge issues right from the start where we have to wait a month for a fix. That alone will make my confidence go a long ways up with 2K.
We'll know soon enough as March is right around the corner...Joshua:

Re: MLB 2K11 Game Features (360, PS3, Wii, PS2, PSP, DS, PC)
I wonder if the mlb2k devs going to lie to us again about the CAP LIMIT. Because they said in a interview from last year game there was no CAP limit to find out there was actually a cap limit. Im already done MLB2k, im just hoping the the exclusive hurry up and come thru so EA SPorts can delivers us a decent baseball game.
The interview was with 2K Sport’s Producer, Ben Bishop, Gameplay Designer, Jonathan Rivera and Sean Bailey.
Here is the simple question and answer:
With the ability to edit players, is there a cap on how many you can edit?
Sean: No, no cap.

I know alot of people remember this interview. How can we trust these people man to deliver us a decent baseball game.
Thanks for playing. There is some nice party prizes at the door. Come back soon.Comment

Re: MLB 2K11 Game Features (360, PS3, Wii, PS2, PSP, DS, PC)
2K Sports slightly updated the Dynamic Player Ratings.
Watch your favorite MLB® pitcher strike out the side in a real game, then watch his stats improve in your game. Dynamic Player Ratings update daily in MLB® Today, Franchise, and My Player.
They will have a Developer Insight covering it, in the coming weeks.
What I wanted, and this would probably only be able to do in the first season of a franchise mode or perhaps season mode only, was for a new roster update to merge the adjusted ratings for players in with my season/franchise. Every time 2K updates their online rosters I want the option of replacing my player ratings with those ones. So if I start a season and the Tigers Alex Avila is rated a 70 I will play with those ratings. Then the real season starts and the first month the kid plays like an All-Star and is batting over 0.300 with 10 HRs (I can dream can't I). The next online roster update has him rated an 80, I want to be able to use that in my season regardless of what type of season I'm actually having with him (say I'm only batting .220 with 1 HR).
My sole concern is just having the player ratings match the overall ability of the player in real life. I do like to keep my Tiger team current. If they send a kid down I'll send a kid down. If someone struggles I will edit the player to make him worse (Porcello). If someone does really well I will edit them and make them better (first half for Brennan Boesch). Even if the dynamic ratings wouldn't do trades or injuries for me, I would love it if I could use a system to automatically adjust my players ratings based on real life performance for every MLB team. I know some guys hate that idea but that's what I was hoping for.Comment

To me I like it. If a player is hot in real life he will be hot in my franchise. I would also like it to be that way with injuries and trades. If a player gets injured in real life it would be cool if he was injured in my franchise. Even if it was a player on my team. I just like it that way.Comment

You go with that thinking.. I will just say this if EA gets back in the baseball game they will do as much as they can to try to buy the rights to baseball like they did for football. So for me. I hope 2k keeps those rights. This game is looking better everyday to me. I like the pitching in this game.

Miss the days of 5 baseball titles to choose from, as well as football. (loved me some Gameday and Gameday '97)Last edited by EnigmaNemesis; 01-20-2011, 07:34 PM.Ⓥ Boston Red Sox | Miami DolphinsComment

Me too. I remember going to blockbuster and being able to choose two out of five different mlb games and just looking at the different games that were available. I hate having to settle for just one MLB game, especially because I don't have a PS3.E-A-G-L-E-S EAGLES

And I'm not saying I want progression to be perfect, I mean I understand it's not going to be, I just want it better than bad (which IMO, last year it was bad).Comment

You might not think of it as a downside, but I certainly would. If they did not fix something that I had a big problem with, I would certainly be disappointed and look at it as a downside. It's all a matter of personal preference, which modes you play, and how you play.
And I'm not saying I want progression to be perfect, I mean I understand it's not going to be, I just want it better than bad (which IMO, last year it was bad).
I have not played a single sports game in which I didn't feel like the franchise was bad. And that's going back to Front Page Sports. I wish franchise play was great. It's like a holy grail.
So if the franchise play is bad again, oh well.Comment

Re: MLB 2K11 Game Features (360, PS3, Wii, PS2, PSP, DS, PC)
Alright, for the sake of discussion they did not change the progression this year. It did not get better, it did not get worse. I thought 2k10's pitcher progression was a negative. Therefore, since it did not get better or worse, I would still precieve it as a negative. It does not become nuetral to me just because it's the same, my opinion of it does not change. My opinion was that the pitcher progression was a negative.
And I should've said this earlier, I only had a problem with the pitcher progression. I did not see anything that jumped out at me with the hitter progression that made me feel it was bad. I'd be completely happy if they improved the pitchers progression so most of them do not regress after they have a good season.

I've played a few baseball games where I thought their franchise modes were good. Not great, not perfect, but good. It's obviously an opinional thing. And I'm not asking for the franchise to be perfect, not asking for it to be great, just want it improved. I only play franchise, so that's why I care so much. And I want a franchise better than 2k10's franchise, which was terrible IMO taking into account:- No injuries in played games
- The DL had NO effect for CPU teams. Players on it could not start, but they could pinch hit/run, def. sub. This gave the CPU more than 25 players to use.
- Players would gain no stamina if they sat out the whole game, but pinch hit for one AB. Their stamina would stay the same as it was before the game, which they still should've regained some stamina because they were on the bench most the game (this one I was upset about but I can see how it would be tough to program because you'd have to make exceptions for players with 1 AB or pinch hit. I'd like it fixed, but it looks like it would be complicated)
- Players would lose their face in spring training and during september call ups.
- The CPU does not call up or send down anyone except for spring training and september call ups.
- I could go on and on with more problems, but I'd just be polluting the thread since this thread is not about franchise mode.
So if the franchise play is bad again, oh well.Last edited by duke776; 01-21-2011, 12:10 AM.Comment
