I think it will be shocking to the masses if the game is free of major omissions and bugs. This will be the 6th release since the last solid and well-rounded game they put out.

I don't expect anything mind blowing in any one area and nothing that we have seen has led me to believe otherwise. However, if we can get a solid game that makes baseball feel like baseball and includes a franchise mode that is free of serious problems, then that, I think, will be shocking.

However, if they brough back zone/cursor hitting and the three step pitching process, I would be pretty shocked

I don't think they'll shock the world. But I could see them shocking parts of the eastern seaboard and a few Rocky Mountain States.

Very true. And since that time the world of gaming has changed immensely. Gamers now accept and on some levels even expect mediocrity, as games are rushed out the door full of bugs and glitches. And year after year, new posters come here asking, "Will this be the year 2K...?" And year after year, nothing changes. I expect nothing from 2K at this point. Plus, what have we seen so far? Almost no info (typical), and the few screens we've seen show the game hasn't made any strides whatsoever in the graphics dept. I'm an optimist when it comes to life in general. But I'm a flat-out pessimist when it comes to 2K baseball and having any expectations for that game.

Nice thoughts guys. Way to keep it mature and clean.

I do think they will put out a good product this year. I think with everything that is going on (exclusive agreement) maybe they are feeling the heat to put out a great game.

I for one thought 2k10 was solid. I think its MyPlayer mode was great and the commentary is solid. The graphics weren't the best but, they still had a fun game IMO. Was it a total sim, probably not but, at this point I think the focus should be on making a good product. The overall difference from 09 to 10 was a big leap and it's not like they can't make 2 steps forward.

I guess we'll see. The only thing that worries me is that we still haven't seen any gameplay footage to this point. I know 2k has their own way of marketing but, they really need to step it up and show they are putting a good product together.

Total deal-breaker for me. I'm not hearing much about what's happened with this mode (or it may be that I'm out of the loop). I put a ton of time into working on rosters last year, and then when I entered into Franchise Mode all the freezing began, terrible AI with regard to lineups, sending down players that shouldn't have been, etc. Felt like I wasted a lot of time. This mode MUST be fixed, big time...

It will also be shicking if this game doesn't require us to wait a month or two for a patch/update to make the game play as expected. Hopefully the product the deliver to us is as intended and not an 80% build that forces us to wait around for the other 20%.

I totally understand there are going to be minor tweaks, etc, but it would be nice for once to not have to wait on a major patch.

They don't need to shock the world.
They just need to improve the game and give us a second console baseball game to choose from and keep improving it.

I think that in a way the game will shock us. I believe that we are expecting some tweeks & so forth that last years game missed, but at the same time maybe do more than what we expected. I mean none of us expect a great owner mode, but 2K could've up'd the ante and did do a nice improvement to it. I don't think any mode will get a complete overhaul but they are going to become a big player when it comes time for baseball games to be released. It will also give XBox fans a reason of hope to hold us over until NBA2k12 drops. That is of course if Madden continues it's downward plunge. Too bad we couldn't see a NFL2K12.

I agree. 2k needs to start releasing more info on the game by now. It's about 1 month left before the game is released.

if they make the same strides as 08-09, 09-10, now 10-11 that would be a pretty good game if you ask me.

I agree, each year VC has had the game it made of number of strides, it was unfortunate that the game was so bad that it took all this time to fix. I am Really hoping VC really focused on the core gameplay more then anything all the other bells and whistles i can do without for now as long as we have a good playing game.

Agree. That's why I'm thinking they will make a great product this year. You have to believe that the guys from the staff are sitting there thinking. "See what they did with NBA 2k11, that can be us this year guys. Let's do it."

Though I agree with the last couple of post, The reality is this group has a lot of work to do if their gonna get this series in the NBA 2K realm. IMO if they wanna get to that level, they are gonna have to fix this series piece by piece.

Right now they are definitely heading in the right direction
