Re: What We Know About MLB 2K11 So Far (List)

Anyone know anything about "Manage mode" in franchise? A few years ago the one they had worked well, being able to give playesr day off and manage the bullpen, etc. Then they took it out I believe in 2k9 and the one last year (from what Iremember) didn't really work very well.

I ask mainly because it's annoying how the bullpen gets handled when simply simulating. You'd constantly see your starter pitch 5 and 2/3rds inning and then a middle reliever pitch 3.1 innings to close out the game. Not to mention some guys get over used and some guys get barely used.

So according to Ron, there are 3 more Developer Insights still to come: Fielding, Franchise, and My Player.

Wow, that sounds great! I am really looking foward to more franchise news. If they added waivers, arbitration, Rule 5, etc. Im definitely in this season. Did they even have 40 man rosters in 2k10?

Those would be great. But frankly, I'd be happy with a working free agent system. If they only did that, it would be a great improvement.

Yes, here's a quick re-cap of what they added in 2K10:

"This year we added 40 Man Rosters/September Call-Ups, Compensation Picks, Spring Training, Trade Finder, Player Finder, Super Sim, Franchise Blogs, Variable Contracts and MLB Today presentation"

From the 2K10 Dev Insight on Franchise:

Wow, thanks Jeffy. I guess the next logical step would be to implement Rule 5, arbitration, and options. I think I may go with 2k this year as I haven't purchased their game since 2k7. I just need something fresh and this fits the bill. Great job Jeffy! Can't wait for the demo.

Is there the ability to add Custom Music to this game? It'd be nice to have batter walk-ups, home run and end of game songs, among other scenarios where music is played.

Yeah, this series has had custom sounds for years now, so it should be still in.

Yes! I'm probably going to be getting the PS3 version then, since it's 100x easier for me to transfer content with a flash drive than using the 360 method. Plus, I don't have a CD burner, so it's near-impossible for me to put Custom Music on my 360.

Good call man. It is a pain on 360 with burned CDs. I really wish MS would update that.....

Wow! I was totally sold on The Show until now! In the past I've gotten the 2k series, at first because I didn't have a PS3 (I do now) and then because I found The Show's batting to be too damn hard and frustrating. The 2k series analog control made it fun, even struggling. After last years game, which I did have fun with but was ultimately disappointed in because of lack of injuries, errors, and other problems mentioned earlier.

That said, even with my frustrations with The Show, I couldn't deny how polished and good of a game it was. Will this years 2k11 elevate the series up to that level? The analog hitting they've put into The Show really appeals to me, but I've always had good luck with 2k, so I'm a bit torn now. Hope they have a demo.

Hopefully this year we'll have unlimited editing abilities with players. I know the last two years there was a limit on how many players we could edit.

I need to update the list. There's quite a bit of new info that I haven't added yet. I'll probably get to it later today.

I have not had a baseball game since MLB 2K5. So anything thats coming out this year I'm buying. Great to see all the new additions that they've implemented into the game.

It really seems like the major concern is graphics. But I think I can look past that because of all the other items and aspects put into this game. Can't wait.

MAN i hope this game is good. It would save me a good $300 (buying a PS3 for the Show).. fingers crossed..

It sure does look like it's been improved a lot.. I can't wait for the demo. PLEASE be good this year 2k.. please.
