Yeah the PC price is great, and if you have a nice rig then it'll definitely look nicer (less jaggies, higher res textures, etc).

I just bought a new asus computer with the following specs:

        Processor Name Intel Core i3-380M
        Processor Speed 2.53 GHz
        RAM 4 GB
        Graphics Card Intel GMA HD
2nd Graphics Card nVidia GeForce GT 425M
Storage Capacity (as Tested) 500 GB
        Networking Options 802.11n
        Primary Optical Drive DVD+R DL

Should that be powerful enough to run mlb2k11 for the pc on it?

It should be pretty nice. Asus makes great laptops.

Your processor might be a bit slow, but the rest looks good. Here's the specs fro 2K10...should be about the same for 2K11:

                Minimum

Hard Drive Space

9.5 GB or more free space

Operating System

Windows XP, Vista, or 7 (Windows 2000 not supported)

Processor

Pentium 4 2.4 Ghz Single Core processor or equivalent (2.8 Ghz for Vista)

RAM

512 MB or more (1 GB for Vista)

Video Card

Video card with 128 MB or more memory and one of the following chipsets is required: ATI x1300 or better/ NVIDIA 6600 or better with Shader Model 3.0 support

But the thing is his processor is a dual core, and the minimum requirement is a only a "Pentium 4 2.4 Ghz Single Core processor or equivalent".

The Core i3 in his laptop would smoke even a 3 Ghz Pentium 4, even though the clock speed was slower, because of the dual cores, newer architecture, larger caches, faster FSB, etc.

With that said though, to run the game on max settings is definitely going to be more taxing, but he might be able to pull it off. Did they release "recommended" specs for 2K10 too?

                  EDIT:

                  I found them:

                  Recommended System Requirements
                  OS: Windows XP/Vista/7
Processor: Dual Core Processor @ 3 GHz
                  Memory: 2 GB
                  Hard Drive: 9.5 GB Free
Video Memory: 512 MB with Shader Model 3.0 Support (NVIDIA GeForce 7900 GT)
                  Sound Card: DirectX Compatible
                  DirectX: 9.0c
                  Keyboard and Mouse
                  DVD Rom Drive
So yeah, he might not be able to run it on max settings, but it should run pretty good with most stuff cranked up, depending on the screen resolution and AA settings.

I should buy it for the PC but... I forgot how to pitch in the PC version of 2k baseball... I mostly use a controller because I forget how... can someone fill me in?
Why did I move here? I guess it was the weather.

Yeah, I know. I should have posted the recommended specs to better illustrate my point. I never said he couldn't run it, I just said it might be a bit slow. The processor is a BIG deal in these games (not to say that it isn't always, really...just that it seems to stress it more than other games I've installed). My buddy kills all the recommended specs except the processor, and he's barely off on that, and get's hitches on anything but the lowest settings.

Personally, having played 2K's games on the PC the last few years, I feel that if you can't run at or near max setting, the price value is trumped by the poor visuals. The game looks quite good on PC maxed out, but flat-out bad on low settings IMO.

That makes sense, man. I played 2K9 on my PC with a Core 2 Duo 2.4 ghz and it ran pretty good on max if I dropped the resolution and AA down. 2K10 was probably more demanding, but I only played it on 360.

It seemed so, although the specs were roughly the same, I believe. I just hope 2K11 is good enough to garner some attention so that modders will be a bit more motivated to touch it up.

If I had any skill at all I would do it myself, but I suck...lol. I can do uniforms, but I'm slow and they're just okay. I don't expect NBA 2K type support, but if a steady stream of faces, uniforms, equipment, and stadiums come through, it should look really nice.

When I get it (and if it plays as advertised, that'll be much closer to release than last year) it'll be for PC. If you can run it well, it's the best way to go for a single player experience IMO (hopefully for online players, online doesn't suffer the same fate as NBA 2K11).

I would go the PC route too, but I really like playing on my 46" HDTV as opposed to my 19" monitor, lol. Now if I can just talk my wife into letting me move the TV into my office
