    I'm 10-2 with the Redsox. Just swept the Yanks, Gonzales had two walk off hits in the series. Yanks are now 1-11. Pitching is alot harder this year and still trying to get use to it. Loving the game so far.
    MLB: Boston RedSox
    NFL: Tennessee Titans
    NBA: Dallas Mavericks
    NCAA: Washington Huskies
    RIP: Seattle Sonics

      3 games into my 56 game season franchise with my mets.

      My Mets are sooo...blah.

      Still feeling my way through, but they just have very little sizzle on the roster...which is pretty much how it should be.

      Lost my opener, 1-0 to the Marlins...Josh Johnson outduels Johan.

      Second game vs Philly, Pelfrey gets demolished and Cliff Lee perfect games me .

      Game 3 is RA Dickey vs Livan Hernandez.

      3-2 game, im behind in the 9th, with the Nats batting.

      Top of the 8th was typical Mets in the clutch

      I pop up with David Wright on the 1st pitch, I K with Bay, Beltran gets on, but the inning ends on a Ike Davis lineout.

        I haven't paid much to any other division in my Pirates franchise than the NL Central, but I'm going to have to check out and see what is going on around the league...

        Looks like a couple folks are having the Yankees completely suck in their franchises.

          Finally won my first series after 13 games. Beat the ailing Reds 3 games to 1 in Cincy.

          Gm 1: 9-4 Cincy wins.

          Gm 2: 10-7 Pitt - came back from 4 down in the 7th to take a 2 run lead; thanks again Mike Leake.

          Gm3: 14-3 Pitt. Scored 4 runs off of Edinson Volquez who would throw 31 pitches in the first inning, recording only ONE out, and leave the game after tearing his elbow up, out for 96 days.

          Gm 4: A nailbiter. Was 2-1 Pitt till the 7th inning when Cincy tied it. Aroldis Chapman started and struck 11 in 5.1 innings. He is a beast! He threw his fastball no slower than 101, topping out at 105 multiple times. Pitt would regain a slim 3-2 lead, but Cincy would tie it. Fast forward to the 8th 2 outs with a man on and Drew Stubbs takes Evan Meek yard for a 5-3 lead on a hanging curveball. Only, Francisco Cordero blew the same allowing 5 hits and 3 runs in the top of the 9th so Joel Hanrahan comes in for the SV with a 1 run lead.

          He strikes out the first two batters, surprisingly being Votto and Bruce, but on a 2-2 pitch surrenders the game tying HR to Johnny Gomes. The pitch was a 2-seamer that sat fat on the outside corner. Anyways...Into extras we go...

          Pedro Alvarez leads off, he is 0-4 with a BB...on a 2-2 pitch he hits his 5h HR of the yr. Pitt leads 7-6....

          Score would remain that way, and Hanrahan would retire the side to complete the series win over the Reds.

            Re: MLB2K11 Franchise Progress

            After sweeping the Twins, I then lost two of three to Oakland. Oakland completely demolished me 8-0 in the first game of that series, mainly thanks to two homers from Josh Willingham, one of which was a grand slam. Second game, Oakland got out to a 5-0 lead on Drabek in the first, mainly thanks to an error by John McDonald very early in the game. However, I was able to tie it up at 5 by the end of the fourth, only to see Oakland take the lead back with a three run fifth to go ahead 8-5. I would get another run by game's end to make it 8-6, but I couldn't get any closer. So now I'm trying to avoid the sweep in the third game, and I have Romero on the mound. This one had no scoring until the fifth, when Yunel Escobar bunted home a run with the bases loaded to give me a 1-0 lead. After a walk to Bautista to re-load the bases, Vernon Wells (yes, he's on the Jays default roster in the game) blasts a grand slam to extend the Jays lead to 5-0. Oakland, however, would strike back in the sixth with a three run homer by Hideki Matsui to cut my lead to 5-3. But there would be no more scoring after that. Soriano came on in the ninth and nailed the save. So Romero gets his second victory to move to 2-0 and I move to 4-2 overall. Next up is my first road trip of the season, starting with three games in Anaheim against the Angels.

              Angels Franchise Updates & Trades : Record 10-3 as of last night, I had traded Kendry Morales & M. Isturis for Prince Fielder for some extra line-up power ( man do I love that guy for RBI's and HR's ) , then traded Vernon Wells for Michael Young cause I needed a strong 3B ( great trade for the Angels ) , I traded some AAA players for Grady Sizemore then along with some free agents I added , I am liking my team alot right now.

                Re: MLB2K11 Franchise Progress

                Fielder is a BEAST in my franchise. I think i hit at least 1 HR with him every 2-3 games i play.

                just finished the draft, and noticed all the high potential kids were pitchers, so i ended up drafting only pitchers till the 7th round. all young but high ceiling guys. then i had to cut some dead weights in my minors.

                anyway, i just played the Astros for a amazing game.
                my SP Wade Davis gave up 2 runs in the 3rd. 0-2
                but importantly, CC was just killing me.
                8IP 4H (all just singles) 2BB 13K. 13?!?!
                he was painting the lower corners like Greg Maddux and mixing in his 2seamer and sliders like i've never seen in this game b4. i was getting frustrated and thiiiiiis close to just simming the rest of the game.

                but Davis toughened up and pitched a Quality game.
                7.0, 5H, 2ER, 8SO, 0 BB

                top of the 9th, 0-2, and then Grant Belfour came into close.
                Prado SO. 1 out.
                then Fielder hits a big HR to the left. ok.... i'm close...
                next at bat J. Bruce, 2-1, BOOM monster HR to the right, and i almost grazed the top right roof lights of the stadium~

                B. McCann singles, P. Sandavol is int walked.
                comes in Kerry Wood.
                JJ Hardy works a tough full count and singles, bases loaded.
                then my lil J. Borbon hits a liner to the right corner.
                4-2
                then my closer J.Soria finished off the game with 1 single and 3 pop ups.

                gotta love the game

                  Quick update on my Oriole's franchise:

                  The Yankees finally got out of the cellar and are a game ahead of Toronto in 2nd to last place in the AL East. I've pulled a game ahead of the Sawx, but the Rays have made a strong run in the last month to pull even with them and now both stand at one game back, tied for 2nd. I have two games in hand so I still have a bit of an advantage.

                  Beat the first place White Sox in my last game, taking 2 of 3 from them (they are just a .500 team winning and in first place of their division). The AL West has the two best teams in the AL, the Angels and Rangers. It looks like if I do make the playoffs I'll likely be matched up with one of them since they both have the best records and one will be a Wild Card. Not sure if I have a preference at this point, just trying to get in.

                  One interesting thing to note, the league leaders are starting to be more realistic (Pujols is killing it in the NL with 34 HRs, and it's still August) after I have adjusted some of the sliders.

                      Hitting:
                      Human/CPU
                      Contact: 40/30
                      Power: 45/60 (I originally had it 70 for the CPU, but was getting pounded. I'm considering bumping it to 65 as the last few games haven't been that close)

                      Pitching:
                      Not sure of the actual sliders, but the first two were set at 60 (I believe it was pitch success and something else)

                      I also turned up my own pitcher difficulty (meter speed was upped to 60, compsure influence was upped to 60 as well.)

                      Fielding:
                      Outfielder run speed: 25/25 (this small bump cut WAY down on the number of easy doubles and triples I was getting)

                      Running:
                      Running Aggressiveness for CPU: not sure of actual number, but I think it was set at 75. This has helped the CPU to actually score when they can and take the extra base so they aren't always hitting station to station. I don't know about the rest of you, but they seem to hit single after single on the default settings.

                      My entire goal is to cut down on the crazy hit totals with the low scoring numbers. Props to Green Flash for pointing me in the right direction

                        Re: MLB2K11 Franchise Progress

                        Just finished up a 4-game set with my A's against the Tigers.

                        I simmed the first two games and lost 5-3 and 4-2, respectively. Tough games to lose.

                        I played the 3rd game, where I had Rich Harden starting in place for an injured Gio Gonzalez (who is going to be missing a couple of starts with a bad shoulder).

                        Truly a wild game. Harden got lit up, but the Tigers threw Phil Coke at me (not that unrealistic, there was talk he could be a starter this year) and I simply crushed him. Through 3 innings, the score was 9-8 in my favor.

                        I ended up winning 11-8. David DeJesus was player of the game, as he went 4-4 with 4 RBIs.

                        ~~~
                        Next game up was the final game of the series, as I went out there and attempted to salvage a tie in the series. Good pitching matchup - Brett Anderson vs. Justin Verlander.
                        I ended up winning 6-3. Knocked out Verlander early, as he was really struggling. Anderson was fantastic on the other hand - pitched 8 strong innings, and only made one mistake by letting up a 2-run homer to Miguel Cabrera. I had Bailey come in for the 9th, and he struggled slightly, allowing his first run of the season but collecting his 6th save already.
                        Matsui has been incredible for me so far - he has 4 homers now and 16 RBIs while batting close to .320. Love him.
                        Another really nice surprise for me has been Coco Crisp and Ryan Sweeney. Both are hitting close to .330 in split time in CF. I really cant decide who I like better out there, but I'll probably go with Sweeney.
                          Also I must say I'm thrilled by how realistic some of the stats have been. Miguel Cabrera is absolutely tearing up the league right now, batting over .400 with 5 homeruns and over 20 rbis.
                          Josh Hamilton is another one. He's batting over .300 and has 3 homers.
                          Verlander was 2-0 with a 1.62 ERA coming into the game against me too, which was sweet.
                          Definitely nice to see the good players actually playing well.
                            I might post my whole slider set tonight..I just need one more game to finalized it. So far, so good though.
                            Just played the Dodgers last night in my Chise. I had Simon Castro on the mound. He went 8 ip, H, 6 K. and beat the Dodgers 1-0.
                              I just won two games in Texas. Don't bother trying to get Hamilton out...it cannot be done.
                              Anyways, my Jays are now 13-11. I think I am 3.0gb both the Red Sox and Yankees. I am comfortably along enough to start projecting stats.
                              Jose Baustista's current 162-game projection:
                              .340 BA
                              130 Runs
                              68 doubles
                              40 HRs
                              120 RBIs
                              8 SBs
                              His OBB is around .400 and his slugging is ~.650
                              I have a couple nasty injuries, so I am down to an INJ slider of 5. Travis Snyder is out for about a month, so is Juan Rivera. My offense has no depth. I did, however, send Encarnacion to AAA to get his swing back. He is hitting .150 as my DH. I replaced him by signing Glaus to a 1-year $1.5mil dollar deal. I didn't even look at his ratings, I assumed his power was at least an 85. Nope, it's a 70 I think. And on top of that there is about 8 more sq. feet of strike zone when he bats too.
                              I am at the point where I want all short players. With accuracy actually being a factor either you throw a ball to one of these short guys, or it's a very hittable pitch. I am being super selective with Aaron Hill (from reading my magazine that seems odd), and his performance has improved greatly.
                                Won two out of three against both the Angels and Mariners at their parks. I must say this, though. Trying to get Ichiro out is a tough task, as he went 3 for 4 against me in the final game of my series against Seattle. However, I still won that game 9-2, in which Aaron Hill hit his first homer of the season, a three run shot against Doug Fister as part of a five RBI game for Hill. My record is now 8-4, good enough for a first place tie with Boston in the AL East. And Boston happens to be the team I play next, a four game set at Fenway, so that should be fun.
