Yea...but Raul Ibanez has faired pretty well against lefties over his career. He's a .269 career hitter vs lefties (which translates in his ratings vs lefthanders), and Dom Brown is unproven against lefties. Keeping Ibanez in LF and platooning Francisco in RF against lefties would give the Phillies lineup more opportunities.

A Pittsburgh Pirates Franchise interests me too.
I started playing some games as them in 2K10, but it didn't last very long.
Really like that McChutcheon kid though. . .Originally posted by Edmund BurkeAll that is needed for the triumph of evil, is for good men to do nothing.Comment

Re: MLB2K11 Franchise Progress
First Pirates fan on here...lol...I'll be playing as them, and get them to the playoffs for the first time in 19 years...they got their whole nucleus on the big league team now (McCutchen, Alvarez, Tabata, Neil Walker)...I'll probable spend time trying to get them some better pitching and a better backstop than Chris Snyder and Ryan Doumit.Comment

Re: MLB2K11 Franchise Progress
Im gonna throw everything into my Rockies. The first priority will be to try to power up the starting rotation by bringing in another ace to take the heat off Jimenez...and I have absolutely no idea how im gonna do it! Any ideas?A coach shares all the same highs, lows, victorys and defeats as the players. He just ends up fatter and balder.Comment

Re: MLB2K11 Franchise Progress
I will most likely roll with the Tigers because of Austin Jackson, I really want to see him become a superstar in the league. However due to my lack of baseball knowledge I'm going to try take a basketball approach, by making only small moves and developing my draft picks.(even though lately basketball has been all about stars trying to join forces)Comment

Re: MLB2K11 Franchise Progress
Going to start my first franchise as the M's. First order of business is to give the starting 2B job to Ackley then move Jack Wilson. He's an above average defensive player but has been horrid on offense since his "breakout" year in Pittsburgh. Hopefully, one of Liddi/Mangini/Triunfel/Peguero has a great year in the minors and can be called up in September to take over 3B and/or SS full time. I might move Figgins but he should be a lot better leading off and playing 3B (I will be letting him lead off). Pitching on the other hand could be interesting. Pineda should be ready in my franchise by the half way point but there isn't much beyond Felix and Vargas. Maybe a package of French/Fister/Bedard will bring in a few young pitchers with more upside or a contending team has a sub-par first half and would want to trade a more established starter.Comment

Re: MLB2K11 Franchise Progress
Picked this game up tonight but don't have to to start a Franchise. I'm gonna start one tomorrow evening with the Astros. From playing the game for an hour or so tonight I gotta say the menus look better. So I'm sure the menus in the Franchise mode will be good and keep you informed."Golf is a game that can't be won only played so I play I play on I play for the moments yet to come looking for my place in the field." - Jack LemmonComment

Re: MLB2K11 Franchise Progress
So I started a franchise with the brewers. In spring training I was offered a trade from the indians G. Sizemore and T. Crowe for marcum and wolf. I declined cuz I didn't want to give up my pitching. It was very tempting tho. So I got to the regular season and played my first game against the reds. Greinke gave up 9 hits and got 4K's in 7 innings to get the win. He did give up 2 unearned runs tho. So down 2-0 going into the top of the 6th weeks and hart hit back to back homeruns to tie the game and then hart gets an rbi single in the 8th to give me the 3-2 win. It was an intense game.Comment

Re: MLB2K11 Franchise Progress
It's a tough call this year. I'm a huge Rockies fan (despite living in New York) and would love to play with CarGo and pitch with Ubaldo and Jhoulys Chacin. That being said, I really love a good challenge and I feel like it might be a little too easy. Another interesting option could be the A's. They don't have a ton of talent but they have some nice pitchers and some bullpen pieces I could trade for decent bats.Comment
