I lose some power in the lineup, but I get some help for what I thought was a kinda weak pitching staff and still have guys that can get on-base and play small ball.

Unfortunately, in my 1-0 victory over the Marlins on opening day, I managed to get Johan Santana hurt and placed on the 60-day DL with a fractured radius (lower arm, I think). Gotta figure out what I'm going to do about that.

Is the fatigue bug for franchise ruining it for anyone? Or is it not a big deal? I haven't played since 2K7 so I can't remember the impact fatigue had on my pitchers...I was debating picking the game up today but if it's seriously messing with franchise enjoyability/realism, I'll probably wait til it's patched in the hopes that maybe the price will go down too.

I don't know who I'm going to roll with quite yet. right now, it's between the woeful nationals, the braves, and the rockies. I'm thinking I might try to do a nationals one where I just go into front office mode and try to lead them to the playoffs w/ out physically playing, and then having a braves chise where I play all or most of the games. What do you guys think?

Play as the Nats, sim season 1, bring Strasburg back in season 2, and continue with his track to greatness. Maybe add a low-cost starter who can be a solid #2/#3 arm.

Started a Royals franchise. I'm only playing the games Luke Hochevar starts, and so far I'm not doing so well. Four starts in I'm 0-3 and I just got rocked by the Rangers. Might have to pick a team with better starting pitchers to do this with, because the Royals stink.

Cardinals franchise 3-0 so far ( I skipped spring training ), Carpenter starting pitcher out 2 weeks with a strained bicep on the 15 day DL, lots of foul balls, overall awesome fun

                Re: MLB2K11 Franchise Progress

I played my first Franchise spring training game today with the Atlanta Braves in All Start difficulty. First game against the Minnesota Twins. Hit a back to back HR (McCann and Gonzales; then later on a back to back to back HR in the 6th (Heyward, Ungla, McCann) against the scare reliever.

Before I begun the Franchise game, I played two MLB Today games against the Yankees and Mets, and I noticed that even though I'm able to strikeout most of the aces, they are hitting 10+ hits per game. Both games losing by a big margin and me hitting only 5 hits together.

When playing the Twins, they hit 12 hits but I managed to have two double plays and they scored only two runs. I stroke out 6 in 7.1 innings with Hudson, including their top 3 hitters once each.

I wonder if someone has managed to have a team in All Start difficulty hitting 5- hits per game.

Energy level for all players for next game is 100, even Hudson with 92 pitches.

Great buy, even though there are more things that need fixing.

Yeah, Im noticing the AI getting tons of hits but not scoring that much either. Its weird. I feel like the hits need to be cut down just a tad somehow. Gotta mess around with sliders.

While Im waiting for some good rosters with prospects to come out to start my All-30 franchise, I started one up with the A's. Lost my first game 6-0 to King Felix. Brett Anderson went down in the middle of the game with a sore back but wont miss his next start.

I like what the A's have though. Definitely gonna try and get another hitter for them though.

After losing Cliff Lee in the second game of the season for 2-4 months from a torn bicep, I thought the injuries were actually pretty cool. Now after 7 games I dont feel the same. The very next game after I lost Lee, I lost Oswalt to torn elbow cartilage for 2-4 months. Then the game after that I lost Polonco for 6 weeks for back issues and Rollins for 4 weeks for a groin injury. While I like the injuries being included this year, I seem to be getting hit hard with them in my franchise early in the season. Maybe I might need to hire a new trainer

                      Talk about a rough start!

I'm also getting hit with the injury bug as well as Rajai Davis is out for about 9+ days with a wrist injury. I'm not putting him on the DL as I'll just use Corey Patterson. Now I have Yunel Davis day to day with a wrist injury as well. I'm gonna try to play him and hope he doesn't get injured worse.

I"m now 4-3 on the spring. I had back to back games of extremes as the game against the Phillies i had David Purcey starting due to shuffling the rotation until Romero comes back. Well, the Phillies didn't take kindly to Purcey as they literally pounded the ball and I had to pull him after 2 innings giving up 7 runs. The final score ended up being 8-0 Philly.

The very next game I took on the Rays and busted out with a 5 HR day including a 2 HR day by Edwin Encarnacion who racked up 5 RBI. Brandon Morrow was dominant though flirted with disaster a couple times and went the distance throwing 110 pitches in a 12-2 victory. So far in franchise the Rays are 0-7 on the spring.

I like how your pitcher could have an off day in the case of Purcey. Anywho I'll play a couple more games tonight unless a package i'm waiting for in the mail arrives today.

Tell me about it. The only bright side to this is that I am forced to bring up a couple of prospects from my farm system and they seem to be doing a servicable job. Of course they arent as good as Oswalt or Lee, but they are getting some great experience and can at least keep me in games. Another note about my franchise is that I was playing the NYM's last night and they had R.A. Dickey on the mound. His knuckler is the biggest pain in the butt to hit against until the 5th inning when he started to leave them up in the zone just to get blasted by Howard and Utley.

It's game number 8 and still no fatigue for my players, but I must say, it's amazingly different hitting off of say Shawn Marcum vs. Randy Wolf or Chris Narveson. I have hit 8 homers in those 8 games on All-Star (3 Soriano, 3 Pena, 1 Soto, 1 Colvin).

The fatigue thing is kind of a pain, but it really shouldn't matter to sim players that much. I would assume if you're a sim guy, you won't take advantage of that and start your ace every game, and even if you did, he's probably going to get hurt eventually judging by the number of injuries.

Has anybody tried to put a starter in for back to back games to see what their pitch count is the second game? I assume it would be tied into their fatigue rating, but maybe it is based on when they last pitched and how many pitches they had thrown so it's a lot of worry for nothing. Unlikely, but a man can hope.

I don't have the game yet, but I think part of the issue is that your fielders don't need days off like the other teams.

Seasprite and SPTO: Decrease the injury frequency slider and/or injury severity slider. See how that affects things, decrease by 2, if still too much decrease by one each additional time.
