Yeah, from what little I've seen, they do decent job. The energy levels, along with nagging injuries causes the CPU to adjust.

Yeah, I had looked at it earlier, but was thinking there might be a different camera view. It seems as though changing the height and zoom to 10 really helps. Much happier now.

Re: Official MLB 2k11 - Impressions Thread

Well i'm playing it out of the box so it's pro but made some adjustments:

        - tried the total control pitching but I was just brutally bad at it so switched to classic. I'm also using classic hitting.

        - I do find that the AI hitters are very aggressive on "pro" so may have to bump it up to the next level up or use sliders.

        - The fielding camera is just way too zoomed in for my liking so i'm using the 2k9 camera

        - Overall i'm finding the experience to be fun but um when you have a runner on 2nd and you make a base hit and can advance the guy from 1st how do you do that? (thanks)

        - The commentary is AMAZING! If you close your eyes you really could imagine it being a real life broadcast. Very great work by VC to say the least on that front.

        - There are some herky jerky animations at times but nothing that has freaked me out really.

        - I'm struggling a little to read the ball when i'm hitting and I'm really glad that this year's iteration of the game rewards patience at the plate. You really can't go hacking at the ball all the time. I will certainly have to get used to that and work on recognizing if a pitch is a ball or strike.

Overall, i'm pleased. I just hope this fatigue thing for franchise is patched up so that I can start my franchise soon.

I am loving this as well. Not to mention they nailed Hinske's body type, along with many others.

I too can confirm that the HR/Out glitch is STILL in the game post patch.

Was playing Pirates/Indians, 2 outs with a runner on, Alvarez hit one dead center, their CF seemed to have robbed the HR but I get credit for a 2-run shot and the inning is over.

Times like these I wish I had the other system so I would never have to give this sorry company my money again (with the exception of NBA 2K of course). This IS a game killer and it's even more pathetic that they said they patched it.

This is one area 2k does extremely well. Played the game at my cousins house and was quite impressed (PS3). It's not as bad as I thought and will most likely pick it up after work. I was the Pirates and was beating him 4-2 entering the ninth. Indeed, I subbed out Garrett Jones (by the way, I didnt realize he was such a horrid defender), and would you know it, with men on 1st and 2nd and 1 out, he hit a shot that was heading to the gap and my RF tracked it down at the last minute. I was able to double him off to win the game. That was exciting. Really makes you think as the game progresses .

Re: Official MLB 2k11 - Impressions Thread

Long time show player I decided to give this game a go after being pleasantly surprised by the demo. With some adjustments the game could play a really good game of baseball. Been playing on All Star difficulty.

-I'm having fun but I'm finding the CPU swings at EVERYTHING. I have played four games so far and I on average strike out 2 batters a game while having an ERA of 2.90 among my starters for the Phillies. The CPU will swing at anything on the black and rarely miss. Typically this leads to soft liners to the infield. The CPU will routinely swing on the first pitch and rarely foul anything. Getting kinda of annoying not being able to strikeout anybody with Halladay, Lee, Oswalt, and Hamels .

-Because of the free swinging CPU I'm seeing boxscores with 12-18 hits a game and the final score being 3-5. Just WAY too many singles. I'm not sure what to do about it. I'm keeping the score low and winning but I have like a 3.00 WHIP for all my starters.

-Too easy to make contact for myself. I might be able to fix this with sliders.

-As a stat guy I'm really liking all the stats the game keeps

-As already been said the commentary is amazing!

-Working the count and getting walks is very rewarding

-CPU has yet hit a homerun on me, however that could be do to my rotation.

-Fielding is intuitive and easy to use. Can really feel and see a difference between a great fielder and a terrible one.

-There really needs to be more foul balls all around. I feel this is the reason for my lack of strikeouts and way to many hits generated by both teams.

-no sliders for the CPU kinda of sucks.

-So far enjoying myself but really hoping to find a slider setting that tones things down a bit.

Oh I forgot to say even though i'm using classic hitting I still felt tremendous joy and satisfaction when I hit a couple HRs with Jose Bautista (BTW I can't believe both video games didn't give him his beard WHASSUP WIT' DAT?!) in a game against Tex. Both of the HRs were right in Bautista's wheelhouse in real life as well.

Keep practicing on the pitching. It took me some time too (2K10 player and 2K11 demo).
With the demo, I found that I was getting at least one K an inning with Timmy.
You can do it by really hitting your spots and nibbling off the corners. And of course, I was able to get a couple of the Rangers to completely whiff on his fastball.

This is my 1st year playing 2k baseball and I must say, I'm impressed. The graphics are cartoony but the hitting and pitching is fun, the commentary is outstanding and the animations are good.

So outs recorded as out and giving the hitter a HR is not a glitch.

This happened in the demo to me 3 times has happened to others

Happening a few times to members is more then it should

My first impression is, I am impressed. I bought this game for the MLB today feature and my first game was cool. I played it on All-star and bumped the fielder speed to 30 as suggested by Jayhawker and the game played great.

Definitely can notice the difference in pitchers when going from Shields to Ekstrom or even Russell. Ended up walking 4 and striking out 5 through 9 innings combined pitching. Also gave up 2 dingers ( Bautista, Snider) which was cool because I didnt give 1 up in the demo through some 30+ innings.

I was also impressed with the A.I. pitching they for sure were not throwing all strikes, was able to get 3 walks probably 5 with some more patience.

Hitting on both sides were fair, didnt see 1 line out in the infield, where in the demo it seemed like 1out of 3 times it was a liner.

                              Fielding seemed fine.

Now there were some funky looking animations, and some of the players acted kinda of jerky, but IMO the commentary ( the best I have ever heard in a baseball game ) make up for that stuff.

If the majority of the games play as this first one did, I will be real happy playing this game over the summer, no doubt.

                                Really?

I was just setting the scene by giving details and getting specific, but the cliff notes version to me is that: If one hits a home run that is close enough for the OF to try and rob it, then the HR/Out glitch will probably happen.

This isn't nit picking about arm strength, season fatigue or edit players limit, this is actually effecting the score and the outcome of the game. It would be like in Madden throwing an interception in the endzone, but somehow still being awarded 6 points and the other team gets the ball because of the turnover. It is broken. I would love to think that it was a one shot thing and an anamoly, but seeing as I experienced it in the demo and expierenced it today I have no reason to believe it was a fluke.

Other than that, I really have been enjoying the game but this is more than just a concern, it is a killer. I hope that more people experience it soon so we as a community can make some noise and 2K will fix it within the next however long it takes.
