Summary of bug:
I don't know if this can be categorized as a bug or a glitch, as it's probably more of a design issue, but I'm going to post it here anyways with the hopes that it can be patched in.
When you pinch hit for the pitcher, the position player actually goes out on the mound to start the inning as a pitcher???
That is absolutely brutal, and would pretty much never happen in real life. Even in those rare times when a position player takes the mound, it's generally not after he just pinch hit for the pitcher.
Seeing this happen looks incredibly sloppy. Seeing the manager come out and take the ball from him, as if any manager would actually send a position player out there to start the inning that way, is something that almost makes me embarrassed to play the game. It needs to be fixed asap.
I suggest simply preventing the game from proceeding like it does when you pinch hit for the pitcher, and instead between half innings after a pitcher is pinch hit for, a menu pops up giving you the option to sub in a pitcher or double switch. Then, after a decision has been made, cut to the new pitcher on the mound to start the inning rather than the position player. My guess is some of the commentary might have to be adjusted as well.
Bottom line: this needs to be fixed if MLB 2K wants to be taken seriously as a sports video game. It's a glaring issue that badly stains an otherwise enjoyable experience.
