Re: MLB 2K11 Roster Adjustments, Ratings and Accessories - MLB 2K Insider Will Check
I feel like Skip Schumaker's (2B, STL) contact should be raised across the board. From 2007-2009 he was their leadoff hitter and hit over .300 in each of those seasons. In 2010, his average dropped due to injuries and the entire team struggling offensively in the second half.
ThanksComment

There are so many pitchers that do not have the correct assortment of pitches that I wouldn't get excited about one more, though Wilson is probably correct for start of season. There are loads of pitchers in this game with incorrect pitches and or speed--according to Pitch Fx.Comment

You expertly left out the 2007 and 2008 years where he hit over .300. Last year he dealt with injuries, and the entire STL lineup struggled in the second half. We aren't even 20 games into this season, so I think it's a bit premature to take those into account (after all Pujols was batting <.200 up until the last 2 games or so).Comment

Hence, the ratings probably shouldn't be adjusted based off two weeks of play or a "feeling" that a bottom of the order hitter is going to bounce back. Just saying.Comment

Re: MLB 2K11 Roster Adjustments, Ratings and Accessories - MLB 2K Insider Will Check
Maybe Inside Edge and Pitch/Fx differ on definitions. 2k uses Inside Edge, not Pitch/Fx. Like how CC calls his slider a "cutter" even though it moves and behaves just like a slider. Or how pretty much any sinker could be defined a 2-seam. Or a forkball a splitter. I've seen you post this a bunch of times, but you don't actually mention which pitches are wrong or any sort of argument for making it changed. Your posts would be much more useful if you include any bit of that.
I have posted what was wrong, just don't keep doing it. There are so many inaccuracies that I don't believe serious attention was done to this part of the game.Comment

Actually, he does have a two-seam fastball in game as you requested. That's a perfect example of where you ask for a change, they make the change to the Living Roster. You also might notice that PitchFX has him only now throwing the 2-seam only 5% of the time and the splitter 32.6% in 2011 (which is how 2K had it before). Perfect example of the fuzziness of pitch definitions. So are you now recommending they switch it back based on Pitch/FX?Comment

Look, I started a franchise and Jimenez does not have a two-seam fastball--this oversight is unbelievable! What they do in Living Rosters will not affect my franchise. There are so many pitches incorrect in this game that it boggles my mind: pitchers having pitches they don't throw, pitchers not having pitches they do throw, and speeds way off the mark.Comment

The season just began and you want to go by one month?? If that's the case, there are lots of pitches that can be changed--especially with speed!

Re: MLB 2K11 Roster Adjustments, Ratings and Accessories - MLB 2K Insider Will Check
You don't think it's odd that his 2-seam went from 1.2% to 0.6% to 0.9% to 39.8% to 5.1%? You don't think Pitch F/X fiddled with their classifications and it's having issues tracking if it's a Splitter or a 2-Seam with a lot downward movement? Ultimately, Pitch F/X is just classifying pitches made off an educated guess based on the movement and speed of the pitch. 2K uses Inside Edge with does a similar technique. The game is consistent with Inside Edge. It's not necessarily an error on Inside Edge OR Pitch F/X if the pitches don't match up exactly. It's not an exact science and in reality pitches don't always perform exactly the same whatever you classify them anyway. If you don't like it in your existing Franchise, edit the pitch. If you don't like it online or want to start a new Franchise with the new rookies added, make a request and start a new franchise with the downloaded roster. I'm not sure what else anybody could expect.
I am not asking for any help, but thanks anyway.Comment

I think it proves they're too liberal about listening and appealing to their fans instead of trusting their sources and initial ratings. As Pitch/Fx's corrections to Jimenez prove. Hopefully our little conversation will correct that.Comment
