Re: MLB 2K11 PC Q&A - Impressions
Why does it say invalid code every time i try and sign up online? Has anyone else had this problem. I called 2k and they told me i need to send a picture to them but i dont have a camera or a phone with capability of putting picture online or putting them on my computer? So far 2k seems like a joke and i wish the show would make a game for the pcComment

Re: MLB 2K11 PC Q&A - Impressions
After reading this thread, I took the plunge and bought this game for my laptop. After installing last night, I fired up my first game and the gameplay stuttered pretty badly. Could be that I forgot to close Lightroom 2, that my wife was using to edit photography before starting, but it might be related to my specs. Can one of you folks in the know look at my specs and give me an idea about whether this should be running smoothly on my machine? I need to buy a controller for my laptop, but if my machine can't handle the game, I would rather not incur that additional expense and will probably just return the game...
Processor: AMD Phenom™ II
Processor Speed: 2.5GHz
System Memory (RAM): 6GB
Graphics Card: ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4250
Operating System: Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
I'm kind of a novice on computers, so let me know if you need additional specs.
Thanks in advance.Comment

Re: MLB 2K11 PC Q&A - Impressions
GoldSox, those specs aren't that bad. I would switch all graphics to the lowest setting, including resolution, and see if that helps. I do see on the box the recommended minimum requirements include a 3 GHz processor. Hard to believe that would make that much of a difference though.
Oh well...Comment

Re: MLB 2K11 PC Q&A - Impressions
Keep in mind those are the recommended specs. I had a laptop last year with the same specs as yours (and your card is better than mine was), and I was able to run most new games on the lower settings.Comment

Re: MLB 2K11 PC Q&A - Impressions
You might try updating your drivers on the graphics card if it hasn't been done in awhile. Could make a change. Also, you could try disconnecting yourself from any network in your house and also try turning off any antivirus on your machine while playing (I'd only do this if you know you're not connected online though). Especially if you're running anything by Symantec, it can be a resource hog.
You can also look on the bottom taskbar and see if anything else is running. Stock laptops tend to have a lot of "extras" that run in the background that you don't really need running anyway. Those are the fastest to look at as far as fixes or adjustments I can think of.Last edited by jwmcards; 04-13-2011, 05:44 PM.Comment

Also, there's a program called Game Booster that shuts down non-essential programs while you're gaming. It's improved performance on my PC for gaming.Comment

Re: MLB 2K11 PC Q&A - Impressions
Do you definitely have the game running through the graphics card? I have a similar laptop, with less memory. I was running through my integrated card and was getting like 4 fps, I changed to my graphics card and now I get like 60fps.
