    NORMAL SWING VICE POWER SWING

How many of you are successful at hitting homeruns with a normal swing instead of a power swing? I really enjoy the hitting in this game but I have a feeling I may have to bump up the power some.

Is there a power swing in this game? ..... I have yet to see it. I'm batting on classic(button press, not analog).

I use analog and I have got most of my HR's on the Contact swing, only one on Power Swing

Re: NORMAL SWING VICE POWER SWING

Here is how I play. I do not call the swing power and contact anymore. The contact swing is to weak to be considered a swing imo.

I play that power is normal swing, contact is defensive swinging and defensive swing is foul off pitches protect the plate.

If I start hitting to many hr this way I move the power slider down, If Im getting to many hits I lower the contact slider.

The other way you can play is the way everyone does with power swing, contact and defensive as is but then I would bump up the power and lower contact sliders.

Either way works just depends on your thought process.

It seems like whenever I use the contact swing I hit grounders, weak liners, and weak pop-ups. Maybe my timing is not right? I skipped this serious last year, so I might need more practice yet.

That's exactly what I'm doing....... again ,I play with "classic" controls.. no analog.

Just spent some time in batting practice and stroked one 412 feet with Lee (BALT) using contact swing with L stick down to influence ground ball. So yes you can get homers with contact. The ball was up in the zone around the middle so he laid solid wood on it even though he was supposed to keep it down. I did notice his trajectory is different than a weak hitter as everything tended to get lifted. His grounders were of the hard, one-bounce variety. When I used Aybar of the Angels I could dribble groundballs all over the place.

I think I'm going to try this:

                Power hitters:

                Power swing on 3-0, 3-1 & 2-0 counts
                Defensive Swing on 0-2
                Contact swing with everything else

                Contact hitters:

                Power Swing on 3-0, 3-1, 2-0 & 2-1 counts
                Contact swing everything else

This is actually what I do.. No HR's thus far in my chise...

I hit a HR with Aaron Hill that barely went over the wall. Other then that, I've been using the power swing to hit my HRs.

I only switch to contact if my batter has little power (ie Rajai Davis) or I have 2 strikes. Once I get to 2-2 or 3-2, I am looking more to stay alive then hit a big fly.

I have yet to hit a homer with contact swing, I've been extremely close but of course this is baseball so almost doesn't count.

The only homerun I have hit was with power swing. I have only played a 4 games thus far though. I did send one to the warning track with Aramis Ramirez at US Cellular using contact swing.

I also play this way. It is amazing. If I get down in a count I switch to regular swing as my defensive swing. I recommend that everyone try this. I am playing a pirates franchise and already have about 7 home runs during the first two weeks of the grapefruit league. I have to say I love hitting in this game.

Honestly contact swing is a hit or miss kinda thing. It's so random as is directional hitting. I've had my LS all the way to the left, but hit the ball right and vice-versa.

I've only hit homers with power swing and I have very good timing most of the time. Great contact. The only hits I get with contact swing are fly balls, weak grounders and other weak hits.

I'm on analog and all I see is pressing the right stick up to swing, I see nothing in controls about other types of swings... ugh.
