    Re: MLB 2K12 Wishlist

    Re: MLB 2K12 Wishlist

It is really is mind boggling that you can have on a development team that produces two games that are virtually night and day when it comes to presentation and animation fluidity. I just can't fathom it. Maybe some one can break it down for me but if I'm not mistake, VC develops both NBA and MLB correct?

So how can one game (NBA) absolutely nail presention, player models and movement and life like animations and the other (MLB) look incredibly clunky and awkward.

Don't get me wrong, the gameplay in MLB has been vastly improved but god all mighty the player models are ATROCIOUS. Huge hands, small heads, enormous upper bodies and skinny arms and all legs with giant feet. I mean MVP 05 had better player models. Maybe not graphically but at least they were proportionate.

Secondly, there are so many awkward and clunky animtions in this game. First off the swinging animations, oh god the swing animations. Just scrap them, whatever you have, throw it away, click delete. The weird leg kick and the upper body contortion to reach down in the zone and the weird follow through. It looks really really bad.

Secondly, the home run trot. Why is it that I can see him switching animations at every base? It should be one fluid animation of him rounding the bases, not this twitchy slow motion turning motion.

Throwing animations are weird as well. Awkward outfield crow hops on a routine grounder. The slow motion turn at second base for a double play. Have you guys heard of mo-cap? For anything?

Player faces. Yea, do something with them lol

Lighting. To me the lighting is waaay to bright in this game. Or it doesn't look natural. White guys look like they are ghost color and their seems to be no definition or shadows on the players or the jerseys themselves. Overall gives it a very cartoony look. Would prefer to see a little darker grittier look, would look more realistic.

    Ahh, contrast.

Also just noticed, why can you see through Longoria's sunglasses?? :/

Presentation. Go get Fox, go get TBS. Is there a reason why a guy who's not even employed anymore is doing the broadcasts in this game? Scoreboard overlay is too big. Need something more like what ESPN has now, or Fox.

I could go on and on, but I think my point was made.

I'd like an option to have a random count as in All Star Baseball...

        Re: MLB 2K12 Wishlist

Better animations for throwing and batting.
One thing i just noticed again : postseason atmosphere.....it's severely lacking. All you see it some logo and thats about it.

I was just playing the 6th game of the Tigers-Rangers series on mlb today.
Was behind 4-1 in the 8th, and Cabrera hits a grand slam.
I loved the fact that there was this scene where you could see the ball go out of the park right after contact, one of those no doubters.

But that was it : no Cabrera cheering when rounding the bases, pumping his fist or whatever. And no Tigers jumping on his back when crossing home plate. Sure, it wasn't a walk off but hitting a grand slam at that time in the game and in the series should have made everybody go crazy.

Its easy to implement so lets see it in mlb 2k12.
other than that : i love this game. (and i'm a ps3 player)

Almost forgot : the Rangers won it in the 12th thus advancing to the world series. What happenend?.......nothing.
          No celebrations, nothing.

Well, off to watch my country the netherlands play the final against Cuba.

NBA 2K11 sold 5.5 million copies. There are not one million baseball fans buying games.

I think 2K has nailed gameplay and presentation in 2K11, so I am hoping they can polish animations and some graphics for 2K12. I think the commentary is great.

If 2K was in the console business, they could invest more money to drive sales of their console. But they have to make money on the game itself.

Personally, I always preferred Diamond Mind Baseball because they has pitch-by-pitch mode. How can you decide to run on a 0-1 count when you think a curveball might be coming. How about the Hit and Run on 2-0 when you should get a good pitch to hit?

DMB had a toggle so that I could play in one-pitch most of the time, but go to pitch-by-pitch with men on base. I'm not sure a console game is worth the trouble.

I grew up on Strat-O-Matic baseball, and have ben playing text sims for ages. I loved Front Page Sports BBPro. But I have never wanted manage only when I am sitting on the couch playing a game. I think it would be foolish for a developer to invest the kind of time that is required to make a mange-only mode as compelling as it should be.

                    Re: MLB 2K12 Wishlist

There's a ton of great ideas here. I have been looking for the "perfect" BB game for years now. I thought I found it in The Show, but now I think 2K can do it. I like the "feel" of the game better. It seems more realistic. I have a PS3 and would never have bought 2k11 except for one thing. I have always wanted a game that could be played along with the real MLB season with updated player stats and ratings to match. MLB TODAY!!! It's funny to me but I don't see much written here about this feature. Is it not so popular?
I'd like to see it improved for 2012 by updating stats daily and be more accurate with the lineups. I like to play the next day so I can put in the identical lineup positions, batting and pitchers. The announcers updating real life stats and the upcoming schedule is excellent and perfecting that more is also a wish. It makes following the real season more enjoyable and I become even more knowledegable. It is a great way for the more casual BB gamer to become engrossed in the game.

                      Animations.....

more player specific batting stances, pitches

                      Animations....

                      More defined player faces

                      Animations....

Double the amount of commentary. It's the best in the bizz already, after the first 10 games...repetative.

Animations.... Catching animations, running animations, hitting animations....everything needs to be smoother and more natural looking.

If 2k12 is the last of the series please go out with a bang.

I would LOVE to see more inclusion of advanced metrics in franchise mode. Including stats like FIP, xFIP, SIERA, BABIP, WAR, and wOBA would go a long way toward making this game more fun/involving for the stat-oriented fan.

I would love to see a realistic spring. No manager uses their starters and pitchers for full games. Spring should be used to see talent, and it is not realistic when the computer uses its starters for the full 9. I would also like to see a new presentation set up with a pregame show like the older versions had and new announcers. Presentation could use a major overhaul for celebrations to make it seem more realistic. Nothing takes you away from the realism of the game like a crowd that doesn't seem to care and players that don't celebrate big plays.

here what i'd like to so... anyone remember mvp baseball 2005? the ownership mode?
I want a franchise with this characteristic in it. I want to control my my whole budget. My advertising, stadium expenses, scouting, EVERYTHING. Not just contracts. That game sold me on that and I have wanted it ever since.
Also, a crowd that gets excited. Momentum factor. I want the crowd to get loud at the right times, shaking the other team and boosting the home team. A crowd factor with homefield advantage!!!!!

the outfield is not that dark at target field! and I find it really annoying, here this video shows how bright it is in the stands at night games at target field
