But all I put up was a gameplay video. Just watch any gameplay video, or play it yourself. Watch any overlay... batter coming up, a pitch in the strike zone, the "OUT" text when someone catches the ball, the score graphic just having yellow streaks go across it, random statistics, when the baserunner window pops up after contact... it's everywhere!

And you all ask what flashes...

Yup, definitely a lot of flashes. They don't really bug me on the overlays and such. I 100% agree on the pop-ups for "out" and "double play", etc though. It's unnecessary and feels too last decade and arcadey to me. I also agree on the max pitch graphic...totally obnoxious.

I'm really hoping someone with some skill tackles that for the PC version, but we'll see. If not, I'll live.

Well, I've been playing the game a ton over the last few days days. I just don't notice anything distracting other than the MAX pitching graphic. I guess it's just a personal thing.

Edit: So I just watch what you were talking about and see what you mean. Honestly, it doesn't bother me at all. I think it actually looks great. I guess I understand how some folks might prefer static graphics. Regardless, I don't find it distracting at all. In fact, I never really noticed how much there was until you mentioned it.

Ah, keep in mind I never had an opinion one way or the other; I merely stated the fact that the game flashes every which was. T'was the OP who made the annoyance claim.

I can live with the flashes as well but just wish they weren't there! I don't need a flash every time i get a strike, lol. I wonder if it's possible that 2K thinks only kids should be playing these games.

Yeah, it does kind of remind me of a Street Fighter type fighting game where you throw a 10 hit combo and you just keep seeing flash after flash, but except for the "Max" on pitching, nothing else really gets in the way.

btw I havent noticed the flashing until this guy pointed it out and it actually doesnt phase me.

I see the flashing now, but I really haven't noticed it while playing. Maybe your brightness is up too high?

I'm an old dude so that is likely the problem, that and the fact last night when it started to bother me i was playing with no lights on in the room.

The flashing doesn't bother me as much as the noise when they are showing the defensive lineups. That screen is the only flashing I noticed until now really.

Same here, I guess the OP never watches FOX Sports. I personally like the flashes and swooshes....and I'm turning the big 4-0 this week.

I think when you combine it with the sound effects and the ones that sweep across the screen when you skip cut scenes and such, plus the fact that they kind of just move around the score overlay, they are a lot more prevalent. Oh, and they're all yellow so that probably makes it more obvious too. At least it's not the blue one from last year.

The blue ones from last year didn't bother me either. I figured that got people riled because that blue flash was pretty much a marker from where they had deleted some real time presentation from 2K9.

When I play normally, I don't hear many of the swooshes and stuff. But when I use my 5.1 headphones, I think they sound pretty cool. But even better, the sound presentation for the game is just all kinds of awesome. The crowd and ambient sounds are just done perfectly. And with the commentary, it is just a fantastic package.
