Re: Injuries a bit ridiculous
Injuries are horribly ridiculous. 2K only tested injuries and fatigue on sim settings. It appears nobody actually played any franchise games to see that there is no fatigue in franchise and a severe injury every game on default. I've got the injury slider at 5 right now otherwise the Detroit Tigers would actually be the Toledo Mud Hens by now.Comment

Re: Injuries a bit ridiculous
What exactly is the problem? So if I am about to start my franchise I need to lower the injury slider to around 5-15?“No one is more hated than he who speaks the truth.”

That would probably be advisable. I didn't even mention the starting 2nd baseman, backup 2nd baseman, and starting centerfielder who are also out for a month.Comment

I believe I heard that 19 gave a very good realistic amount of injuries..Comment

Re: Injuries a bit ridiculous
My thinking with that is I prefer playing these sports games against CPU teams with the lineups I spend hours and hours editing and tweaking before starting season mode. Nothing more annoying IMO than playing a season where many of the big name stars aren't in the lineup when you finally face their team.Comment

Re: Injuries a bit ridiculous
The problem I have with the injury bar is that I am not really sure what setting does what. What is the difference between 40 vs 30 vs 20 vs 10 besides supposedly less injuries? My lowering it down had to do with seeking what seemed normal or realistic (losing a starter in 3 consecutive games after exactly 5.1 innings didn't seem realistic to me) but if I play the games to get an idea of true frequency I don't get a decent sample size of frequency until it is too late. Not to mention simming games seems to give different results than playing games, which means it gets complicated for players like me who will usually end up simming half my games and playing half. A 40-50 frequency while simming is just fine while it is torture while playing.
And if you think it is frustrating right now, wait until its time to bring a player off their rehab stint if you don't sim a week's worth of games. Oy. Injuries off is definitely the easier option. I think rudyjuly was right in that their testing of franchise only dealt with simming. Did they even play two consecutive franchise games all the way through? The problems with fatigue and injuries just seem sloppy.Comment

Re: Injuries a bit ridiculous
Once again this a "new" fix that is overdone. Why does 2k keep doing this? lol.. That is your answer for every type of bug with 2k. Especially if it didn't exist like last year. Last year injuries didn't exist but this year they do and its overdone. typical 2kComment

Re: Injuries a bit ridiculous
Sometimes I feel like I'm playing a different game than the rest of you guys here on OS.
My injury sliders are set as default and I only have a few players go down through the year with significant injuries. Now I should note that I am doing the "play one, sim 5, play one, etc." I've been getting pretty realistic injury, stat, and win totals for my franchise (with adjusted sliders, of course). Yes the fatigue bug is there, but it doesn't bother me that much (although I would LOVE to have it fixed with a patch).
Keep in mind that most injuries are ones that can be played through, albeit at a reduced ability level. Again, very realistic to what actualy MLB players have to go through during a season.Comment
