Do any of these names sound like a realistic trade? Which ones sound like a real player a team would let go and which are most likely untouchable in your opinions?

    Prince Fielder
    Carlos Quentin
    Ike Davis
    Logan Morrison
    Mitch Moreland

Prince Fielder could happen. I know Ike Davis would not happen.

So im still considering if I want to explore the David Ortiz trade. My biggest bat is Pat Burrell, with 81/84 power. But he's only got 2 home runs through 17 games, and also leads the majors in strike outs.

I'd be trading away at least Aubrey Huff, who was starting to come around before his injury, but his production has been replaceable, shown by the fact that Brandon Belt came up from AAA and has pretty much given me the same production.

I'd like to have the extra power that Big Papi offers, but I also feel like its making a move just to make a move. Im not even through April yet and I hate to shake up the roster so early in the season.

looking to add a bat to my Indians franchise..I could use a solid right handed bat with some pop.... I was thinking Michael Cuddyer from the Twins. I tried to see if I could bring Thome back but he is like a 5 star player and only like a 83 overall. And when I go to trade-finder for him nothing comes up. So I'm looking too add a RH bat. Maybe at 2nd and put Ocab on the bench

            thanks!

Moreland isn't going to be traded unless it's part of a package with another top prospect for a superstar pitcher at the trade deadline. They traded Smoke away, so they won't be letting Moreland go.

Davis and Morrison are the same, though Morrison is the most untouchable of those.

I'd say wait and see on that one. It will probably take you through April at least to start to get a feel for how your team is playing. So long as nothing super crazy happens in the standings you could even take a little longer than that to evaluate the roster.

If I were you I'd keep Huff and Burrell around. Injuries are super important in this game, so having Huff to play if Belt goes down or vice versa is huge. And a guy like Burrell will get his over the course of the season I think.

With Papi, you're looking at a disaster in the field, which is something I'd consider since you can't DH him. If you want to trade for power, the Jays have lots to spare and will trade with you for pitching. They seem eager to move both Adam Lind and Aaron Hill. Maybe if you can't score runs in a month one of those guys would be worth a look.

i am the Mariners.. i have done two trades so far:

                  1) milton bradley & two 5 star prospects.. some outfielder and some pitcher FOR justin masterson & lonnie chisenhall

                  2) chone figgins for pedro beato

what do you think.. i know the masterson/chisenhall isnt realistic cause they wouldnt trade either.. but i still gave up two 5 star prospects of my own.

That's what I may do. I'm getting to the point in my schedule where I'm not playing as many divisional opponents, so I'll probably be simming games in the near future. Despite losing 9 of my first 10 games, I have since won 7 of my last 8. I'm definitely hitting for average, as I have the highest team batting average in the entire Major Leagues, but I'm among the lowest in the majors for total runs scored. I'm also dead last in HR's. So I'm getting hits, I'm just not consistently stringing hits together for runs, nor getting a lot of long ball (although I do get a solid amount of doubles and triples).

But um, yea, I'm coming up on the end of April, and getting ready to enter May. Between simming games, and playing what I feel to be important games, I'll be able to get a feel on what kind of upgrades I need. There was a point where I was definitely ready to blow up my entire roster when I lost 9 of 10, but I have completely turned it around here the past couple (in game) weeks.

The fielding is one of the major things I have considered when looking at the Big Papi trade. He's not nearly as reliable as Huff is. As far as Burrell goes, I'd like to not trade him. I'm happy with his overall production, I'd just like for him to NOT be my main power hitter.

As of right now, as I said in my other post, I'm coming around having won 7 of my last 8, and I currently lead the majors in team batting average, so my bats are coming around. I'm way way low in runs scored, but I think a lot of that was due to my early season losing fest. Now that I'm turning it around, I'm sure those stats will balance out.

A key will be sim results. I've been playing every game so far because all but one of my series up to this point has been against a division rival (the other series being the series against St. Louis, which was my home opener, so I decided to play that series as well), but once I get into series that aren't quite as vital, and I start simming, a lot of those stats are going to start balancing out, and how my team does over that course will also effect what I do with my roster.

As it is, right now I'm glad I held out on making any big time trades. Signing Cristian Guzman was a pretty good move as he's given me a big boost in the lineup, but adjusting my lineup has also played a huge part. Getting my guys in the right spots has significantly increased my offensive output.

Ya I decided to tough it out and just keep Jed Lowrie. I also grabbed Michael Pineda for Simon Castro SP 73 Ovr 5* potential (Padres number 1 prospect), Casey Kelly SP 65 Ovr 5* (Padres number 2 Pospect), and James Darnell 64 3B.

But ya don't worry about Burell being your biggest hitter. My biggest power hitter is Ludwick who has 64 contact and no more than 77 power against righties or lefties.

I'm getting all my runs through steals basically. Bartlett, Maybin, Venable, Hudson, and Headley all can steal. Besides Lowrie who is just decent, you have no idea what I would give to have a Bat like Buster Poesy in my lineup.

Just like the Padres you got solid pitching.

                        1. Lincecum/Latos
                        2. Cain/Richard
                        3. Bumgarner/Harang
                        4. Sanchez/Stauffer
                        5. Vogelsong/Pineda

You can definitely work people with that pitching. Not to mention Brian Wilson.

For me, I got Bell for the 9th innings, Mike Adams for the 7th and 8th and even Gregorson for the 5th and 6th if I really need it. Through 22 games o far my bullpen has gave up 3 runs.

Sounds like all's working out well. With that pitching staff I'd got with a pitching and defense team build and settle for your 3-5 hitters having doubles power and everyone else being plus defenders.

Sim results are really good in this game. The stats play out exactly like they should. This has allowed me to play one and sim five, which lets you play multiple seasons, watch prospects grow, etc.

Lincecum must be a ton of fun to pitch with.

Well, it would be hard to get him. But if you handed over a buttload of prospects... Ian Kinsler is a solid RH 2nd Baseman. He's signed through '12, with a club option for 2013 (in RL). As a Rangers die-hard, I know this most likely wouldn't happen. It is not outside of the realm of possibility though. You would be giving up a hefty portion of your Top 10 prospects for him.

You would maybe have to give up like your number 1 prospect, and maybe like a top 15 and a top 20 right?

Having a speed team in that ballpark is not only dangerous, it's almost a necessity. Guys aren't going to put up huge power numbers in Petco, so it makes more sense to have speedy outfielders that can steal bases. and have the range to cover the field. If you can get some power from either 3B, 1B, or C, you would be in business. That is, unless, you can find a guy that has speed and power, in which case it doesn't matter where they play.

Good luck with finding that, though
