Infielders can't make plays in shallow outfield?
This has happened several times to me now and it's becoming very frustrating. On pop-ups to the shallow outfield, I send my SS or 2B out to make the catch only to see them take a poop squat and watch it hit the ground. WTF??Tags: None -

I've never seen this. Maybe you should up the infielder speed slider slightly?"Baseball is the coolest sport because, at any moment, the catcher can stop the game and go tell the pitcher a secret" - Rob Fee -

I haven't seen that either. I've had IF makes plays in the shallow OF before, so not sure why you're having trouble. I have had an OFer turn to late to make the catch and let the ball get by them, but it was a terrible OFer that did so. I wonder if that's what's happening here?Comment

Re: Infielders can't make plays in shallow outfield?
It's happened probably 5 times. It doesn't have anything to do with the speed of my players. He squatted there for a good second or two and the ball just dropped right next to him. It seemed like the computer didn't think he was supposed to be there and just didn't let him make the catch. Like it was expected the OF to be there instead.Comment

Re: Infielders can't make plays in shallow outfield?
This happens to me a lot and it drives me crazy. Usually it's a play where my 2B is running after the ball at a 45 degree angle and he won't jump for the ball. I'm assuming the game wants me to dive for it but I can't figure the timing of it for my life. It's one of the few types of plays that makes me think auto-fielding is a good idea lol.Comment

That happens to me a lot. I just assume the ball is landing in no man's land. My 2nd or SS can never catch up with them.Comment

Yes, they are called bloops. Its jut the way the game handles them after the patch. With a fast player, you can usually make a dive for it. The real problem is when the game glitches up and your infielder starts running left, or right opposed to back and you cant change players.Comment

It's not bloops. It's pop ups that should be easy plays.Comment

It's a small thing though.Comment

Re: Infielders can't make plays in shallow outfield?
I have had it where the 2B,SS are right under the ball and just look at the catch while the ball hits them in the head. They don't even attempt to put there glove up to catch it. They just let it hit them in the headComment

...Your doing somthing wrong, or they are bloops. The game has bugs, but it wouldnt happen every time. Ive played hundreds and hundreds of games in both My Player and Chise. Its a bloop.Comment

I never said it happens every time. It's happened a hand full of times. It's a bug or glitch that happens when you try to make a play with another player the CPU doesn't select for you.Comment
