Downloading mine from Amazon now.
A framerate issue is sometimes not truly a framerate issue but a stutter in the game engine. In other words it's possible that a game can be benchmarked at 100FPS and still have a glitch during certain segments due to code problems and not hardware limitations. I am guessing this is the case as it was apparently fixed on both the PS3 and Xbox already. It's just unfortunate that the PC version always seems to have to wait months for a patch.
I am hoping this is not a game breaker....cause obviously I went ahead and bought it.Comment

Exactly. Framerate issues in this case would be due to code problems, and would be very unfortunate. Although I heard it's only default camera that had the problem on consoles, before the patch fixed it anyway. So that could be the issue. Regardless it's a shame.Downloading mine from Amazon now.

Stop perpetuating correct information regarding PC game performance!A framerate issue is sometimes not truly a framerate issue but a stutter in the game engine. The final product is fantastic! I'm loving every bit of this game so far. The hit distribution is amazing as well. I love how they tweaked the pitches. As Cabrera, Josh Johnson hung a curve high in the zone, which this year has NO break. Ended up going 450 ft. :-D
As for the lag, no need to hit the panic button. Mine runs smooth as silk, although that is with vsync OFF. I also have a GTX 570 and a 2500k, with all settings maxed, but the game isn't that demanding anyway. I hope everyone enjoys it, and let the modding begin!!Last edited by DetroitStyle; 03-06-2012, 12:48 PM.Comment

As DS mentioned, the game plays a solid game of baseball! As for lag my experience has been based on settings and only noticeable on foul balls (never on balls put in play).
With only the in game settings maxed out my gameplay is flawless. If i get into my nvidia settings and bump up transparency and AA to x16, x32 etc., I get a minimal fps hit on foul balls. One thing I did notice though, cut scenes in between batters do not take the fps hit like last year!
Specs: AMD Phenom II x4 3.5, gtx 460
And yes, let the modding begin!

re: MLB 2K12 - PC Impressions
After downloading and running the installer I get this "the cabinet file mlb2k12_3.cab is corrupt and cannot be used". Uh oh. Time to redownload.....9.22GB? It was one giant file that was extracted....how did this happen? If it was a corrupt download wouldn't the original extraction have been bad?
Oh well....I guess my posts about the "actual gameplay" will come much later.Comment

Mine runs very similar to 2k11. Balls in play look fine, foul balls are still jarring to look at.
MLB Today mode is interesting to say the least, so my understanding is you need to keep up with it or else you lose a chance to "re-write" history?
They removed some of the old cameras which is a disappointment.Comment

If I get this game it will be for PC (obviously the best), but I've been somewhat reluctant because of the framerate issues being reported by some. I don't want their to be any hiccups whatsoever, even on foul balls. The game should run smooth at all times. I have gtx580 x2 (in SLI), so horsepower is not an issue but regardless the problem is one of bad coding.Comment
