Now, I mentioned previously in this thread that I use Classic pitching, more than a post ago. If anyone wants to check this out, use Classic pitching, and you can try it in Pitching Drills for Velocity. Use a pitcher like Strasburg or any pitcher that has a 2-seam fastball speed rating (mph) of more than 95 and see if you can get more than 95 either in the drill or a game.

4-seam fastballs are not the problem, 2-seam fastballs over 95 mph are--in Classic pitching.
I'm using the out of the box, break point pitching...I personally like it more than classic and think it really gives me a variety of "meatballs" and more opportunity to work myself into a hole in the count. I haven't found the right balance yet in terms of getting the CPU to draw a realistic amount of walks, but I'm certainly getting into a lot of 3-0 and 3-1 counts against CPU hitters.

As to your point, maybe classic pitching is the issue...I haven't played with it since breakpoint and gesture pitching came out in 2K8 (it was 2K8 right?) Anyone who's on classic pitching having this same issue? If so, then this is most definitely a glitch and could be easily patched

I had the same issue with last year's game. 2-seam fastballs top out at 95 if it's supposed to go to 97--with Classic pitching. This is a bug carried over from last year.

If anyone cares to check it out, Classic pitching with pinpoint and Pitching Drills/Velocity or in a game with someone who throws a 2-seam fastball over 95. Also, if I remember correctly, I don't think you can edit a pitcher to throw higher than 95 for a 2-seam fastball.

...People don't throw 2 seamers over 95-96 mph. So yeah, there's nothing wrong with it.

They do in this game, over 95.

Craig Kimbrel is listed in this game throwing a 98 mph two-seam fastball. Using Classic pitching, you (User) can only get him to throw 95 or less. Another interesting thing that should be noted is when editing a pitcher's speed (what he throws) the max is 95.

In reality, it is very impossible to get a 2-Seam Fastball over 95 MPH.

I think this is possibly a glitch. The CPU shouldn't be able to throw more then 95 also, anything above this is very hard to do.

With the rating by the pitch, it is the OVERALL rating because if it was the Speed that means Mark Melancon's Curveball would be 94 MPH when I can only throw it at about 84 max.

The CPU does throw what the rating is and I'm talking speed not overall. When the CPU uses Strasburg or Kimbrel, they throw 2-seam fastballs over 95 mph. The user with Classic pitching and maybe other pitch choices cannot throw it over 95 mph.

This is a bug in the game. I believe it started after a patch last year. The user should be able to throw any pitch at the same speed as CPU, but this is not the case for 2-seam fastball.

                    Then the game is flawed.

It is not flawed in that respect because pitchers can throw a two-seam fastball over 95 mph; for example, Stephen Strasburg did it in 2010. You can check that out in the velocity graph shown in this link http://www.fangraphs.com/pitchfx.asp...131&position=P

Can't believe the grief this poor guy is getting for pointing out a simple bug with one aspect of the user pitching, lol. Some of you act like you programmed the game yourselves and are deeply offended he dared to even mention it, sheesh.

Me, I'm more concerned about the number of pitching animations where the ball doesn't appear to come out of the pitcher's hand, but rather several inches left or right of his hand. It completely throws off my hitting. I'm now in the process of sifting thru every pitcher, and editing and getting rid of those wonky animations. I'll worry about how fast they can actually throw after I'm done all that work, heh.
