Re: How realistic is WSB 2k3?
you can customized the sliders to your ability. the AI does walk people if you are patient. the stats are reasonable. i think i remember some saying the stats have a few anomolies but i played 3 different baseball games last summer so i may be wrong.
the main complaints were floaty flyballs, and having both a contact and power hitting button, (that didn't bother me, though.) and stealing bases for humans was way too easy.
i loved the game. the franchise was deep and the hall of fame was cool. you really need to develop talent over time and manage your money. you have to hire a manager, hitting, pitching & minor league coaches and a scout to find overseas talent.
you will have a blast. -

Re: How realistic is WSB 2k3?
I think that WSB actually played a pretty realistic game of baseball....the thing that WSB suffers the most is with it's game engine and animations.
They really need to add more variety in the fielding animations and tighten them up to look and flow more realistically. And one of the most horrendous Batter/Pitcher engines of the post 2000 period needs some serious tweaking. There was almost no variety in different batter swings and pitcher windups...not to mention the pitcher looked as if he was throwing about 10 feet away from the batter and the pitched ball physics simulated more of a wiffle ball then a real baseball.
Actually I felt that Homerun King, Sega's other baseball game, had a much more realistic and better playing game engine....it just needed to have the franchise mode and polish that WSB was given and that would be the ultimate baseball game.
I havent really enjoyed this WSB engine since it switched from WSB 2K1 back on the Dreamcast.
I think Saturn WSB was the most enjoyable WSB to date.Comment

TOTALLY agree there! We share the same beliefs to what is good/bad with Sega and this series. It's a shame that they (Wow, Sega, THQ, whoever) let that WSB/HR King engine die.Comment
