Re: How do you guys get deep into franchises?

I spend too much time working on rosters - I have yet to even start a franchise for myself. Probably stupid on my part, but I find I enjoy creating rosters and playing the actual MLB Today matchups more than anything. I use updated rosters each day (picking random teams) from http://www.baseballpress.com/lineup.php. I hope to actually start a franchise one day....

EDIT: It's the best of everything:
      1. I get to develop a player
      2. Each game takes about 5 minutes
      3. I can account for every single statistic the player accumulates
      4. You greatly reduce the likelihood of slider hell. Pretty much who cares about how fast the OFs run and stuff like that.
      5. You don't have 100 players to worry about in your entire organization.

Ohhh, and you get new camera views for a huge portion of the game.
I like the idea but my question is.......in my player can you get injured? I like the way the road to the show you can be injured and miss loads of time. Just adds to the realism. That being said that is about all I liked of the show I'm a 2k junky. Right now I'm playing a full week simming a full week.

I don't know. I'm only 5 games into my career.

MKHarsh. If you are a roster nut don't bother doing franchise mode. The idea of franchise mode is to let it take over and become it's own breathing and living entity. Guys around here do things like 30-team control because they go batty when the CPU has peculiar line-ups. This is unrealistic to get deep into.

Basically when you start a franchise of any type it's an alternate to that sport and not an accurate simulation of it.

2K7 and some earlier iterations had a 10 game season. You never really had the "dog days" with that schedule..LOL. It was basically a tournament mode...and kind of fun for a quick fix.
