    Re: Anticipation Attribute

Do any of you guys know if the same thing applies for 2k11? Being in the UK I'm still plodding along with that

Have manually made the update, and think there is a difference although whether that's me making things up myself I'm not sure...

Slightly off topic - do you guys know how to increase the number of infield singles? It seems there are hardly any when I play, only the speediest players are able to pull them off, and even then rarely. I know I could increase baserunner speed but I'm worried that will make stealing unrealistic. Any ideas?

And great work guys, this is making the game a lot more enjoyable!

      Hi Guys,

Great discovery with this. I am a PS3 user but I enjoyed 2k12 last year more than the other game. Both have their good and bad points no doubt, but for my gaming ability, or lack there of, 2k12 better suited me. Does anyone know if these adjustments will work on the ps3 version yet? I am willing to start/partner up with someone if they want to go through and do the roster edits etc..

I was just laid off so after my daily looking for a job....what else is there to do.

      Thanks and again great discovery!!

I would think it would work on any platform. I use a PC, MK uses a console, don't know which one. This setting seems to be a universal one since it effects how well the graphics work.

thats what I figured too but being an video game old foggie I wasnt sure if it made a difference. I updated rosters today for the ps3....kinda a pita when everytime you do something it autosaves but whatever....I am going to try this next and see how it works for the ps3. I referenced this thread in mine so others could have a look.

          Have a good day!!

I'm going to get deeper into a franchise mode with shogun's sliders and the pc rosters for this tonight. I've played some games here and there, but not enough to notice much.

I just have trouble picking a team as I don't have a favorite team.

I feel your pain believe me. Last year was 3-5 games with one team then start another 3-5 with that one and start another. Hopefully this year goes better.

              Good luck

Nuts! I really should have ventured into this thread yesterday.
I just traded in 2K12 and Madden 13 for a $60 credit and was going to use that towards the NBA/MLB combo platter.

It would be cool if the folks at 2K had read this thread and made the same edits to 2K13. I hope so.

                    Re: Anticipation Attribute

I am trying my first few games with anticipation set at 25 on PC. I played a normal unmodified version with updated rosters (2-13). Indians vs Mets. A low scoring affair that went down to the wire...as always and a good thing.

Then I tried the changing the settings to 25 on both teams. Another low scoring game....which I would rather have than 15-13 runs per game.

The only noticeable change between the games were that there were more routine singles that were actual doubles, plus an inside the park HR - but that was my mistake that I used the wrong outfielder (I went in the opposite direction).

My question is if the anticipation setting change is primarily just for the xbox or PS3 users and not PC users.

Like I said, it is probably operator error. I will have to experiment more...

Not sure, I think a few PC guys said it played well for them.

Did you use one of the slider sets from the slider forum, my Shogun Sliders and MKHarsh's sliders.

Both are specifically made for the 25 anticipation edit. Try those out.

I am using your exact sliders and I have noticed that tons of routine singles turn into doubles and doubles turn into triples. I may increase CPU outfielder speed to 10 or 20 and turn down their arms to maybe 85.

Infielder play I feel is perfect.

I have seen an increase in extra base hits too. Ones that shouldn't be. I am going to attempt the slider changes in the above post.

Which stadium are you playing in? That makes a huge difference in triples. Some have ridiculously huge power alleys that once the ball gets lost in them forget about it.

I converted my third team to 25 anticipation (New York Yankees) and I (Indians) were at Yankee Stadium. I tried Shogun Sliders with it this time....

I lost 1-0, but my skill level was not up to the sliders---I only had two hits the entire game. My timing was totally off and CC was too dominating.

I think I need to lower pitch speed a little and increase OF speed a little to offset those routine singles becoming doubles and triples as Pistolpete suggested.

I will keep at it (25 anticipation) with the PC version until 2k13 drops in a couple of weeks, then I'll try it on the PS3 version of the game.

Which batting view do you use?

I love Batter 1, height 6, zoom 5. I can pick pitches up quickly and the graphics are also the best in that view I think.

In other views the ball moves quickly.

I'll try that one. I haven't messed with camera angles and only used the default setting. hmmm.
