Re: MLB 2k13 "My Player" Mode

My "my player" is a pitcher and one game I was up 1-0 in the 4th, they pulled me and we ended up winning 5-0. The only bad thing about it was the game gave the win to my reliever when we had the lead when I left and never gave it up.

One more weird thing that happened to me was they hit a blooper to CF and when my CF picked up the ball he just stood there and let them have an inside the park home run...We lost 1-0

I'm pretty sure that you have to pitch past the fifth inning to qualify for a win.

My game just started freezing. I am hitting .403 with a 36 game hitting streak and I wonder if the system can handle that? I'm at 99 rating too. 2nd year in majors? any ideas?

Ok, I have a hard throwing left-handed pitcher that signed with the LA Dodgers. My pitches consists of a simple 4-seam fastball, curve and change up. I have worked on the fast ball, which I can currently blow by hitters at 97 mph. The first year was spent in the AA refining my craft. I was invited to the next years Dodgers spring training and pitched well, but was sent back to the minors. After a short stint of dominating AA, I was just called back up to the Majors to fill the number 5 spot in the rotation. My question is does anyone have suggestions on a 4th pitch to develop. I am considering a 2-seam fastball, slider or splitter to expand my offerings.

Anyway, I am enjoying the game so far. Having sliders in the "my player" version allows tailoring the game to what I want and less cheese and this is something I wish the NBA2K series would take note of.

              Regards,

                Andrews.. Go Jazz!

I suggest a sinker or a screwball. Screwball as the same effect as a curve ball to right hand batters. So your lefty can throw inside and have it break back to the left. Fernando Valenzuela use to use it. Hard on the arm but I don't thinkthe game factor's that in. Depending on how you want movement will dictate on whether it will also drop. Reverse curve.. good weapon for lefty pitcher's . Hell. even pedro Martinez would sink one in.. hard on the arm and that's why it's rarely talked about. The game has it... enjoy.

                  Hello,

thanks for the advise. Gonna try the screwball. A good fastball with offspeeds breaking left and right should work just fine. Besides Having a screwball player in LA sounds appropirate.

Just got the call-up from AAA Ironpigs to the Phillies in June. No season or team goals as of yet. I'll probably have to wait for next season. I had all my call-up goals but one this season, which wanted me to score 11 Doubles before I was able to advance. That one was a pain. I hovered at ten for about a month of games.

                      Hello,

The short comings of this game have been well documented. In my case, I am pitching well and made the all star game. However, no option was given to play the all star game out. Even though I clearly have the best win loss record on the team, I am still number 5 in the rotation as we approach the final month of the season. My Dodgers are leading the west by a small margin, so I expect to make the playoffs. I am interested to see if the playoff games are handled any different.

The Phillies are so abysmal. I'm batting a 320 with 20 RBI's and 2 homers (I roll a contact hitter) and I'm still fifth in the lineup, after a clean-up who bats 200 with 3 homers and 15 RBI's. I'm consistently getting base hits on no outs but my team can't ever bring me home. I ignore hit and run goals now because everyone is a pop out. I'm consistently making double plays with my SS and they still let runs get by.

I'm considering requesting a trade to the Red Sox, who are top in the AL right now, but I might hold out another season and request some free agent signings. I really wish I could manage this team.
