Where Can I Find A Tutorials On Pitching/Hitting/Baserunning/Fielding

    Pitching

I really suck at pitching online. I have absolutely no confidence throwing fastballs or changeups anywhere close to the strike zone. I never get the "max" pitching thing or whatever that is.

    1. On what occasion does my online opponent see which pitch I am throwing and the location? For example, when the upper part of the box turns blue and says "fastball". How does that occur? I've played people online where I would go a whole game without seeing it and then for my next opponent, I see it every time.

    2. How can I throw with more accuracy. The reason I so against throwing fastballs in the strike zone is they never end up where I am aiming. I will aim for the corner and then it ends up being a meaty pitch down the middle.

    3. How important is it not use a pitch when it is red or yellow? I had an opponent manage to throw only a sinker, cutter, and curve and completely disregard his fastball

    Hitting

I feel like my hitting is okay. I guess my main concern is my eye. How can I get better in this department. I have a terrible time discerning certain pitches from others and it terribly difficult deciding whether to swing on the borderline pitches.

    1. So, how can I get a better eye?

    2. Wouldn't mind some tips on hitting more HRs!

    Baserunning

This is most likely my worst area. I'll have the fastest son of gun on base, take the longest lead possible, time the jump perfectly only to get thrown out by a mile on non pitchouts. I get seemed to get picked off quite often, too, which is absolutely frustrating.

    1. So, what method produces the most stolen bases?

    2. How do I do a double-steal or?

    3. Has anyone ever hit the ball...noticed a bad throw in and tried to advance and the player not immediately react...then you press RT (because he didn't react and it is too late to go to 2nd), only for the your opponent to throw to 1st....and then...then...my guy is walking back to 1st after over running the bag just begin to dart to 2nd and get tagged out by the 1b? To sum up, delayed reaction to advancing after hit and not respond until ball is thrown to first.

    4. Is there a list of all the shifts and under what circumstance to use them? I find it odd that there is a horseshoe right but no horseshoe left...

    Fielding

One problem I've encountered is shifts. I never use them, because I don't know what the situation calls for. The worst problem I've encountered is the something stupid like a runner being on 2nd, and a guy hitting the ball on the ground. The guy on 2nd is trotting to 3rd while I am making the throw to 1st for the out. While throwing to first, Ill have the 1st baseman begin throwing to home because these guys online are aggressive on the paths. But instead of my 1b throwing home, he will stand there, pick his nose for a second, and then finally react to the action I pressed long ago and then the throw is ALWAYS too late.
    1. In what situation should I use the various shifts?

    2. How to make your infield react sooner when someone is aggressive on the base pths

    3. It is best in pickles to make the guy just retreat back to the original bag? Every time I am bested and the guy advances to the desired base.

    4. How the hell do you "wall climb" is that a myth? Hit "X" to wall climb aka throw to 3rd and stay grounded.'

    5. Are there certain defensive substitutions I can get away with? IE...Putting 1B to OF or C to 1B or are these on a player to player basis?

OK here is a hitting tip.

Play with strikezone ON then in Difficulty Sliders section turn "Batter's Eye Frequency" slider up to 100, every pitch the cpu throws will have a "text" message just as the pitcher releases the ball telling you what pitch is coming.

Don't confuse this slider with the "Batter's Eye" option you see in the controller section that is a "different" batter's eye (confusing, yes I know).

I play with the Batter's Eye option in controller section "Off" but play strikezone "ON" and batters eye slider at 30 or so. I tend to think of the "text" message as my hitter reading the pitch that's coming just like good hitters in real life are able to do. Set the slider where you like as you get better, also good hitters will see this "text" message way more often than a poor hitter will.

Also you must have the strikezone on for this "text" opttion to work.

For pitching, there is a controller option between "Breakpoint Aim" and "Pin Point Aim". Pinpoint Aim means that the ball will go accurately towards the target that you made with your controller and breakpoint means that you aim to the place where you want the movement of the pitch to start. (Yes, it sounds a bit confusing).

As far as these deficiencies in my game go, they're related to online play rather than against the computer

It's just the batter's eye predicting the pitch, good hitters will see it more often just like good hitters in real life can read what pitch is coming from time to time.
