Yeah I agree with Stoud. Also what defines the "perfect game" for one, certainly doesn't mean it's perfect for someone else. Writing code to develop a game is not easy by any means. This takes a lot of time and hard work. If they were to develop the "perfect game", I would think that they would have to include every single little detail/option imaginable. Not to mention the gameplay would have to be 100% flawless (and we all know that no software is 100% flawless).

Re: what would you rather pay for?
Look at Everquest. People who've played that since the beginning have paid well over $500 total for it. And if you read EQ message boards, you'd get the impression that it was hopelessly broken. They've added, fixed, and balanced since the game was released and people still aren't happy with it, so it's very doubtful that the same kind of people (you know who I'm talking about) will ever people completely happy with a baseball game.Comment

In fact it could have too much. I know that many want perfect realism, but I don't want to sit there for 3 1/2 hours to play one game. I don't need to watch the catcher throw the ball to the pitcher every time, nor do I want to wait for the pitcher to warm up between each half inning.Comment

Re: what would you rather pay for?
A perfect game to you, would not be a perfect game to someone else. This is the reason we have different forums here. I think ASB is the closest thing to perfect, others think MVP/ESPN are. A developer could never make everyone happy.

Re: what would you rather pay for?
This would make no sense for profit reasons. Like Chris Rock says, "You mean to tell me they can send a Space Shuttle to the moon, but can't make an El Dorado where the F*ckin bumper doesn't fall off." Of course they can but they won't. They will spend the least amount of money that will draw in the highest profit every year.Comment

Re: what would you rather pay for?
eventually they may probably have virtual reality where it is like your are at the plate and depending on the attributes, thats how clearly you can see the pitch or make contact with it and power rating will depend on how far it goes, but it also depends on how solidly you hit the ball.Just wait till Arsenal moves into Emirates Stadium.Comment
