This game looks brutal!

I just watched the videos and am really disappointed. For the last two years World Series Baseball has been my choice of baseball videogame. I didn't think that last years game was great but it was the best out there for the total package (gameplay, graphics, controls, franchise). I was hoping that with player scaling and fixed swing animations that this years game would be improved. After watching the videos the player scaling got a little out of control. We now have stick figures in baseball uni's and the swing animations and stances may actually be worse than last years game (which is hard to believe). I will still give this game a shot but if I had to pick one today without playing them, it would have to be All-Star Baseball because at least they have made improvements and not regressed. Whew. It feels better to get that off my chest

3 Movies and it's "Brutal" eh? Geez, just a bit of over reaction there. I could see calling it a roster update or something but it's not brutal. It looks to be at least every bit as good as last years. All the games are going to have problems from last year that didn't get fixed.

i agree. the game looks like it did last year. ans if it is, it will be the worst playing of the 4 again.

yeah i haven't heard of any major gameplay changes besides the pitching and batting change. but they haven't seemed to change anything else like the Farm System.

I have to agree with you that there doesn't seem to much different from last year except ESPN in the title. I am in a quandry because NO baseball game this year will offer a two player franchise mode in their games. So I don't know which way I will turn? I know what games I am staying away from ASB and Inside Pitch if it was coming out. I played both and found that Inside Pitch shouldn't even be rated against these other games! ASB I rented to make sure I wasn't missing anything. I wasn't! The gameplay is flat and bland. They do offer game options out the hole. But hitting with that "bending doughnut" is every bit frustrating. The feilds look flat and bland, the same can be said for the swinging motions of the batters. I've heard that this game was made very well in these catagories, but I found taht those were all false when I played the game. Not every game is perfect mind you. MVP has their "meter" system in the game. For pitching it's O.K. not for the fielding. Just have a hard throw button (risky) and a soft throw button (conservative). Another EA fault( IMO) is that they produce an "arcade feel" in all of their products eventhough they claim to be "more of a sim" which their not. I could defend this but I won't.
