If a pitch comes inside, and I swing outside, why do I always miss the ball? Does the bat not still hit the ball? Shouldn't a hit still occur(albeit a bad hit, foul, dribbler, popup)? Sega's decision to make the batter swing exactly where the ball is pitched is both stupid and flawed. I hope it's only this way in the demo and will be more realistic in the final.

Some things I do love from the demo: pulling the first baseman off the base on high throws (I wish I knew why I pulled him off the bag. Bad throws appear to be completely random occurrences in ESPN, while they happen for a reason in MVP), the base coaches jumping out of the way.

Sega should study EA's replays. Especially on homeruns. ESPN's are extremely lackluster. You mainly just see a replay of the swing, and then you see the ball as it clears the wall for a second. Yawn. I've also always despised baseball games that tell me when it's time to pitch again. If I want to throw the ball around the bases, LET ME.

Throws are inaccurate sometimes. They are more likely to be inaccurate when "boosted", but unlike MVP, you will not have a perfect throw every time you choose to. We do it that way to make it more like real baseball.

I agree on the replays, although we did some work on them after the demo was released.

The "true aim" systemmakes you aim (somewhat) correctly to hit the ball. Yes, it's possible (but very unlikely) to have the ball actually pass through the bat and not hit it. It was the same way with cursor hitting. I think that's a pretty minor flaw compared to some other systems, such as ones where you never miss the ball if it's in the strike zone and you time it correctly. To each his own, though.

The throwing the ball into empty stadium areas/into walls/etc. is fixed in the final version.

    <hr /></blockquote><font class="post">

Good comeback FP, I am on the fence this year for which game I want ESPN or MVP but if the hitting in MVP is like this when the pitch is in the strike zone and you time it correctly you should not always be able to hit the ball if you swing in the wrong place.

People complain that they don't have these little animations then these are the same people who complain that the game takes too long to play, you can't have everything.

To push a button to throw the ball back to the pitcher? You really want that? For the 6 peple that would actually use this(I would guarantee that ALL 6 people would quit using it after 20 games), it would be a waste of development time even if it were an option.
