This was one of my complaints last year and glad to hear they fixed it by having a one button option. I will now consider purchasing this game, since I saw before there was the same power and regular swing buttons while trying out the demo. I sure hope turbo boost can be taken out as well!

Yup.
And even if they didn't, it's weird that people wouldn't just have the sense to not press the button.Comment

Re: Power Swing: Good or Bad?
"Swinging for the fences" isn't just some made up thing that doesn't really happen. Talk to a pro scout or read scouting reports to see how many times they talk about guys swinging from their heels too much, developing an uppercut in their swing because they're trying to hit for power, etc. Look at all the guys that were low-strikeout contact hitters until they started trying to hit for power (Steve Finley, Luis Gonzalez, Rafael Palmeiro, etc.). Their numbers speak for themselves. Did they start striking out more because they suddenly become bad at making contact? Of course not. Don't believe the post-game interviews where the guy says "I wasn't trying to hit a home run; I was just trying to make solid contact", etc. Of course he's trying to hit a home run; that's how you make the big bucks.

Re: Power Swing: Good or Bad?
Forgot to add Jim Edmonds.
I think that better use for the power swing would be such as it's an all-or-nothing swing (like you can't check-swing), and that you can only make contact in just a little bit of the radius of your swing location.Comment

Totally agree on that comment. I played baseball and currently play softball. When I swing for the ball, I personally don't have a power mode swing. Some of the hits did go out but that's because my mind was set in just swinging hard and level with good contact in mind. When I'm playing baseball video games, I want to have that same mindset. The one button swing will accomplish that.Comment
