I don't buy that at all, and only a kid would have such a narrow black/white view of the world and of corporations. No offense.

You should know that most game companies go by the "any publicity is good publicity" creed. It works. It is, in fact, the only thing that explains why Postal 2 sold more than 10 copies nationwide.

Furthermore, i think that Bondra is pretty close to the truth. I think OS is playing it off like "hey the ball's in Blue Shift's court"... but i suspect that what happened was this: FatPitcher called them out, after which OS writes or calls in their righteous indignation to Blue Shift, complete with something like "as of now we won't be posting any impressions unless you tell us that it's ok to do so", only not as nice probably. Blue Shift THE CORPORATION, not really giving a crap whether OS posts impressions or not, hasn't yet replied.

    That's what i think.

Y'all are free to think what you want.

Is wildly speculating about things that you know nothing about a lot of fun?

Yep. Only it's not as fun with gaming as it is with politics, the economy, whether the black guy's gonna make it to the end on "The Apprentice", etc....

It was black and white why Fat Pitcher chose not to post impressions here anymore...he didn't like OS's overview of the game that he helped to make, so he left. Postal 2 sold becuase of it's contreversial nature, not because it was a crappy game Aeon.Contraversy sells...ie "The Passion" or ratings for "Chappelle's Show". There's nothing controversial about being 2nd , 3rd or 4th best baseball game this year in the eye of the public, that's just being a failure. I'm 21 years old, not a little boy, i might be younger than you, but at least i don't try to insult total strangers over the internet....i believe that THAT is something a child might do. And it's not just OS giving ESPN not so good reviews, look around at IGN, and plethera of magazines that are saying the same.b A domino affect of bad reviews has started for this game and SEGA wants to stop the bleeding, cuz whether or not you think so or not, GOOD REVIEWS help sell games, not bad ones. Fanboys will buy their brand of games regardless, but the rest of us would love to hear impressions of a game before we buy them, and of course any logical human being would be skeptical in buying something that only got 2 good reviews out of 10. Do you know how many consumers read OS,IGN,Gamefaqs,GamePro,Gamestop,EGM etc reviews??? Do you know the percentage? Put your calculator down buddy, it's a good amount of consumers and potential consumers.

We're all in the dark to what the facts are, so we need to try and conjure up our own explanations in our minds to subdue our anxiety. Granted, we rather get impressions, but thus is life...we all must wait.

Re: Why are you not Responding to questions about the Beta Copy

You say when you consider a score for a game you take previous versions of the same game in account. So, in this instance, WSB2k3 got a 93 from your site last year. Correct? This year from playing the demo and reading many, many, many sites and articles about the game, I have concluded they did a few tweaks here and there, slapped on a few modes, but essentially left the game the way it was last year. In fact, from what I have gathered, you can set the game up to play basically the same as it did last year.
That's all well and good that you look at that and say to yourself, "Well MVP made this much improvement and ASB made this much improvement, so it should get a higher score because it is a better game than last year." That is cool.
BUT, and this is a Rosanne Barr kind of big but, what if Joe Schmo gamer has NEVER PLAYED ANY OF THESE GAMES? What if this is the first time he has seen ESPN Baseball or MVP Baseball or ASB or MLB baseball? Aren't you doing him wrong by reviewing a game in comparison to previous versions when he has no idea what the differences are? Shouldn't you review a game based on in merits THIS YEAR? THIS GAME?
I know what you are going to say. You are going to say most of the sports gaming public has played other versions of the same game and has played other games. While that is true, your thinking behind reviewing games is flawed.
A game should be reviewed based on its own merits THIS YEAR. THIS GAME. Not what it has done before.
                              Just my opinion.
