    Re: About swing animations

The swinging animations are terrible in this game, but I don't really care. It's not important at all and I wouldn't care if it was in every baseball game.

I agree they are bad..I noticed it after playing Mvp..BUT, I played the Espn Demo a lot lately after trading in MVP and I don't even notice it anymore...I think if they fix the Pitcher/batter interface, the crowd noise level, and the swing annimations I really think more people would buy this game..But to me it's about gameplay and Wsb2k3 was terrific and I can't wait for Espn ..The gameplay is where it's at..What I don't get though is the reviews say it has great gameplay but still give it a bad score...Don't mean to be a A@@ but where are the impressions of this game...He opened the thread back up and spoke what once...MMMMMMMMMMm Oh well I will have this game in a week hehehe

                        Re: About swing animations

Personally, I want to be sucked into a game. Almost to the point where I forget I'm playing a video game. Atmosphere, to me is very important. There are little annoyances in all the games that pull me back to the real world and remind me I'm playing a video game. The problem with ESPN MLB's swing animation, for me, is that on every swing of the bat I'm reminded it's a video game. Therefore I become dettached and get bored. I realize that there's more to baseball games than animations. There's gameplay, Franchise modes, statistical accuracy. All important. But I play out most of my teams games and animations help create atmosphere, and like I said, atmoshere is real important to me. I agree with the wiffle bat statement made above. It's like the bats have no weight to them. It's not a believable animation, and unfortunately it occurs dozens of times a game. Ruining my playing expirience. I know it's not important to everybody, and that's great. That's just my take.

Yikes. Hey, like you said, YMMV, but if swing animations are the biggest problem ESPN's got, i'll be a happy man.
