    About swing animations

I've heard legit complaints about WSB and even ESPN....which hasn't come out yet.....but what is your gripe with swing animations and how does it affect your game playing experience? Over the past year I've heard numerous people use this one excuse to knock the game and not call it the best baseball game of 2k3 and as a reason not to buy ESPN this year. Thoughts?

I don't understand it. Maybe it is just me, but when I was playing WSB and batting, I was concentrating on the pitch and after that, base-running, so didn't really notice the swing animation. When I am pitching, I concentrating on following the ball so that if it is hit, I can react appropriately.

Therefore, to me, swing animations don't play any part in my game buying decisions since the only time I really notice them is when carefully studying a video.

But it feels like your swinging a wiffle bat. All other baseball titles seem to at least give a better swing animation!

I agree, I don't notice the swings either, as long as the results off of the bat are realistic I could care a less what the heck the swing looks like. What cracks me up is that people complain about the swing animations in ESPN but these are the same people who are ok with the non-working franchise mode in MVP, what's the bigger problem not having the batter swing in his appropriate manor or having the dynasty mode in a game be totally pointless?

I can live with the "ole" batter's swing in this game for now. They got us where they want us because this was asked by many folks to be looked at and fixed. It seems that they ignored it totally? However, at least the pitcher is far away enough from the batter's box to give you enough time to react to the pitch. MVP, IMO seemed if Randy Johnson was throwing the ball from Little League dimensions b/c I had a hard time reacting to hit the ball.

The swinging animations are terrible in this game, but I don't really care. It's not important at all and I wouldn't care if it was in every baseball game.
