I thought ASB's AI is pretty good this year in terms of managerial moves. Yesterday, the AI for ESPN let the pitcher bat and then removed him at the top of the next inning. Moreover, I've seen pitchers get left in too long. Can others chime in on whether or not they've seen good moves by the AI? Especially interested in comparing ESPN's AI to ASB, which is pretty doggone good (brings in lefty to face lefty, counters your moves, etc.)

Overall I think ESPN's AI is much better than any of the other games. On a single, if I mistakenly throw to third, then runner will advance to second in a heartbeat. Most of the substitutions are dead on and come at the right time.
I did see Turk Wendell bat for himself in the 9th trailing by 1. Thought it was a little odd, but then Colorado may have used up its bench since they had an injury and had already pinch hit for 4 pitchers. I should have looked at the box score to see if they had used everyone, but I was in a hurry.
This is the only time I've ever seen a pitcher hit when he shouldn't.
Other than that, I have seen nothing but very good AI out of the CPU.No, I didn't draft Grossman on my fantasy team, what do you think I am an idiot?

its not a big league level manager, but it plays a solid game.
The slider set in Espn is really a strongpoint and i try to use them to encourage an aggressive game from the cpu.Comment

As for the on-the-field AI, as buoyed by the extensive sliders, I think it's very good. The CPU generally makes the smart play, but you still get the occasional gaffe, just like in real life. It feels more like baseball than any of the other games to me, by far.

I've been puttering around with this game and must say I really appreciate the consistency. I haven't seen anything jump out at me. I've had some real head scratchers with ASB, although not game killers, I wish the AI was as good as ESPN.Comment

I think the AI is excellent on this game, definitely the best of the baseball titles this year IMO! The AI will steal, take an extra base on a bad throw, or a throw to a wrong bag, bunt for hits with their speedsters, sub pitchers when needed, hit and run, make great defensive plays, sac bunt, intentionally walk a batter in the right situation, and the sliders are great, and actually have the right effect on the gameplay! I am having some great duels with the AI!Comment
