There's no justice in the world

I'm sorry, but I just had to create this thread. I just need to make sure that I understand this right.

To those that said they would only buy this game if the "*** **** swing animations weren't so bad," they're much better. Those people agree for the most part, also. But, I feel that most of those people are trying to find some other excuse on here as to why they won't buy it. I'm hearing a lot of "The sound of the bat is horrible." Yes, it is horrible, but audio options can turn it down.

I don't know, it seems like that they're trying to make some sort of reasonable excuse to avoid this game. Swings were horrible last year, and you guys said this game is so great, but I can't buy it because the swing animations... it's fixed this year (except for when they hit it, which you only see on replay anyway), and I still hear people saying that they won't buy the game.

Let me put it this way: If my sister walked in on me watching porn, she'd call me a pervert... If I walked in on my sister watching porn, she'd call me a pervert.

One thing I learned long ago...there is no rhyme or reason on why people like the games they do. For one it may be the graphics, for another gameplay only, for another the audio, for another all pieces have to be perfect. There is just NO way to reconcile or understand why games sell. And they all do...sell that is. So just get the game that does it for you, and forget about arguing with anyone else on why they game is better, or why they think your game is worse. It is a no-win and a huge circle jerk.

What the hell is going on in your house!??

Anyway, it always amazes me what portion of a game people focus on. Undershirts, bats, the wall is only 5'7" and it is supposed to be 6', the batter does not adjust his crotch in the game the same way he does it in real life, whatever the case may be. I feel strongly that many of these comments (sometimes legitimate) are made to get a reaction from others. I am also willing to bet that many of the complainers are the first ones in line buying the game. But every person has some qualifier in their mind that makes them pull the trigger to make a decision on purchasing a game, whether trivial or not according to another.

For me, the bat sound does suck but I have said in past posts that it would not deter me from getting the game. My concern with these games is mostly gameplay. When I see some of the same problems gameplay wise, poking through, it is definately discouraging. I will probably end up with this game because I love baseball but it will not be my first purchase!

Re: There's no justice in the world

The people who have been the most vocal have also been the most vocal about the whole TT/VC baseball deal, too. Take it all with a grain of salt. Hey, I gave you crap last year about this title. (how crappy the swings were, how great MVP was,etc.....) I can't wait for this game. One thing I've learned about this board is how passionate and stubborn gamers are on this site. Everyone is a Roper and Ebert and love to critique. Don't get me going about how I feel about Madden....

My point is this: In the end what I have to say and what you have to say really only matter in what makes us happy. I'm a big supporter of VC and not of EA. Truth be told, the game that most floats my boat is MLB 2006. Of course I'm not going to buy a PS2 to play it. I like this game and can't wait to buy it. And I'll opine about it, good or bad, once I get it. Some will think I'm whacked, some will agree with my opinions, some will call me a blind fanboy. So what. I'll still have a forum to share in and will continue to meet some great people.

P.S. Hey Muff, for a 16 year old, you're pretty heady. I enjoy reading your posts. And you're right about the condition of the forums at the other site. This place is soooooo much better.......
            Note to Tiburon Marketing:

A great product sells itself, no "back of the box" features required! (See Fifa...)

Yeah - the other forums blow now, enough that I spend more time at OS than I do there at this point, my reservations about such aside...

Kush/VC has took away any good excuse that somebody may have had to not buy this game after looking at all the options and customization this game has.

IMO Kush/VC just tweaked ESPN MLB 2K4 and was really working on 2K5 for the past 2 years. You can make this game play any way you want it to and its even priced at $19.99 (This will probably be the last of the $20 games from VC/Take2).

You have to be a real ***** if you don't get this game.

Actually, Visual Concepts was a little pissed about last years game. So much so that they fired Blue Shift who was responsible for the MLB games, and put Kush onto the project for this season. I loved last years game, but I still think it's very dramatic what Kush has done with the graphics and presentation in just ONE year's time, not TWO. Can't wait to see for myself what it plays like.
