Easy solution. Buy what YOU like and stop worrying about what others think.

A psychiatrist would have a field day with us! We take our sports gaming a little TOO seriously around here. Every little detail has to be right or we'll slam the game. I suspect when the PERFECT game does come along, we'll be too cynical to recognize it.
Some of us are so into our sports games that we should probably put into one of those jackets that make you "hug yourself"!

Re: There's no justice in the world

Yes, I do understand that I will buy what I like. So far, I don't know what I'm getting... I have no pre-orders lined up yet. Chances are, I'm going to get a game that takes advantage of the Xbox, and I'll probably get MLB 2006 as well. So, probably ESPN and MLB... maybe one, not sure which one I would choose, though.

My point is that I honestly don't know if it's the swing animations that get people about this game, because those that would have bought the game if they were fixed, and reject the game even though they're fixed are finding another way to avoid the company's product IMO. I mean, you know, there are people that will avoid Madden no matter how good it is just because it's EA, but they don't use that as their excuse.

I don't know, I just wanted to know some answers here... like I said, there's no justice in making variable excuses, especially when they're not the logical reason.

Oh, and I'm sorry for that one analogy... just a joke.

But yes, the ESPN Videogames forums have just... I don't know... gone overboard.

I am one of those people that got all bent out of shape over the swing animations (amongst other animations in game). I have also stated that I don't know whats up with the slave lashing sounds of the bat hitting the ball, but this is not putting me off from it. In fact at some point I will most likely get the game, depending upon reviews. However after my experiences last year having played every game objectively, I ended up with mlb2005 , so this year I will be starting with mlb2006. When I weighed the pros and cons of what I know of both at this point, it was the career mode and eye toy support for 989's game that pushed me over. However I too would like an eyecandy game for the xbox, so 2k5 will ,as I said, probably get purchased as well.

To those that said they would only buy this game if the "*** **** swing animations weren't so bad," they're much better. Those people agree for the most part, also. But, I feel that most of those people are trying to find some other excuse on here as to why they won't buy it. I'm hearing a lot of "The sound of the bat is horrible." Yes, it is horrible, but audio options can turn it down.

I don't know, it seems like that they're trying to make some sort of reasonable excuse to avoid this game. Swings were horrible last year, and you guys said this game is so great, but I can't buy it because the swing animations... it's fixed this year (except for when they hit it, which you only see on replay anyway), and I still hear people saying that they won't buy the game.

Welcome to the way of the world my young friend. Trying to find the logic and reason behind much of what is said here will only make you insane. If MLB 2k5 ends up being the game for you, great. Don't worry about that segment of the board that hates the game and posts obnoxious rhetoric to just to get a rise out of those that support the game. As long as it works for you thats ALL that matters.

Totally agree with you. This game looks to be much improved and, in my opinion, probably better than MVP.

amen to that, but i do admit, i sometimes wonder why some people do find the need to try pushing other's buttons over the preferences of a game.
Either way, i buy what i want, not what others want me to want.
