because the graphics on MLB2k5 are horrible compared to MVP in 720p. PERIOD. if you don't have a TV that supports widescreen and 720p, you can't make any comparisons. literally, MVP in 720p looks far and away, better. it's not even close.

Regrettably, my HDTV does not support 720p, only 480p and 1080i. HOWEVER, the higher resolution will only smooth out the jaggies some, it won't do much more, so while I can believe that MVP in 720p might appear more aliased than MLB2k5 in 480p, there's no way the faces suddenly improve, or that the presentation differs. The size of your set matters too; I don't play on my 55" HDTV projection set because the jaggies get blown up too much on MOST games. However, on my 38" tube HDTV, the issue is mitigated.

So, when you overstate the graphics on your set for MLB2k5 as "horrible" I'll assume you're playing on a 50"+ set and your complaint is the jaggies.

yes sir, you're absolutely correct. i have a 57 inch. 720p is absolutely gorgeous and makes the game much more enjoyable. 2k5 looks very bad, almost to the point of being a PS1 game because of it.

i will certainly agree the presentation in MVP is poor. 2k5 is simply stunning in this department. however, to me, the true joy in playing a baseball game is how it plays, the animations, the AI, how well the franchise mode is done, etc. in these departments, i believe MVP to be superior as well.

but man, 2k5 certainly presentation and does it WELL!!!!

on a regular TV, i'd guess 2k5 looks better than MVP. on a big screen with 720p and widescreen, it's not close unfortunately.

I think what frustrates some people is that you are forced to be in that "if game A just had this that game B has or if game B jsut had these few things that game A has". Its been this way with most sports titles. For example. I prefer VC's NFL game to EA's BUT I still play EA's because I like the owner mode. If VC's game had that, there would be no reason for me to buy madden as well.

If MLB2k had some things MVP has then there would be no need for me to own MVP as well as MLB2k. On the same note, there are things that I like about 2k5 that MVP doesnt have that keeps me from solely just playing it. So i own both and play both...its frustrating but if I gave one or the other up, id be missing it because of what the other game I kept didnt have.
