Re: 3Bman does not charge slow rollers . . .

I was playing with the Red Sox to test it against Schmidt and i could load the bases and score 2 or more runs everytime i did that test.

One thing I noticed with this game. It has the best bunting I've seen in a game. I'm pretty good at laying down the perfect bunt down the lines. That said I could load the bases and score all day long. But that's taking advantage of what it, afterall, a video game trying to immitate real life as best it can.

People aren't supposed to take advantage of this and if they do (not talking about you), then they aren't playing the game as they should. Bunts should be used in bunt situations, like real life, and rare bunts for hits.

I think, overall, this helps lesson the vacuum effect of the pitchers getting everything and makes the third baseman charge balls. I've also seen the pitcher field a ball up towards firstbase and run over and tag the runner. That's o.k. as that can happen in real baseball.Perhaps 3rd basemans arm strenghts needed to be raised a notch or two?

The thing is, even with RANGE/ANTICIPATION lowered the pitcher still goes after bunts in his field of range. Now the 3rd baseman goes after balls he should be charging.

alot of the thirdbasemans anticipation needs to be raised, some are even at 0.

I think that the human base running speed is way too high. The human bunt assistance slider is also way too high.

Guga sounds ok , but like Jim said you have to use the bunting for what it is and yes it the best bunting EVER ! really good , not stiff ! Except for CHI Sox Posedineck (sp) bunts alot for basehits . Fielder throwing agression must stay at 10.
if you move it up slow runners like The big Hurt Thomas ( Sox) will get thrown out alot from RF . Trust me I tried it !

                        Why post this?

Finally a game with SLIDERS that work! It would be nice if every game came right out of the box to suit your needs, sorry this one doesn't.

Is the tweaking of these sliders helping? Yes, they help in MLB2006 and MVP.

If you've got nothing to contribute......................

I was working with pitchers anticipation/range both at 8 and also noticed
that the 3 baseman charged more often, but not ev'single time. Sometimes
the pitcher and 3 baseman would go after the bunt...in this instance, it would have been nice to see the pitcher concede to the 3 baseman, but I will lower anticipation/range for all pitchers to 1 and leave it there.

ps. with the anticipation/range at 8/8 I was seeing plently balls get past the pitcher (as well as pitchers gloving a few balls that they were supposed to).

Good to hear. It's fair to say that running these two attributes (RANGE/ANTICIPATION) way down is the key. Seems the problem has been solved. Great!
