    Double Switching, is it broken?

This my understanding on what a double switch is.

I pinch hit for Pedro with Galaraga (sp?)
After the inning, I insert backup pitcher in the lineup replacing an existing player
Gallaraga takes the replaced players position

Am I missing something or does this not work in 2K5 or do I have the rules wrong?

I believe you have to switch positions with gallaraga and the guy you want out. Then bring in the pitcher for that guy.

The game doesn't let you do that. Gallaraga becomes a pitcher automatically.

It worked in 2k4, haven't tried it in the game.

Once Gallaraga becomes a pitcher he can't be switched back to a fielders position.

I thought you only did a double switch when you were fielding.

When you are batting you just pinch hit for the pitcher and then have to bring in another pitcher at the start of the next inning.

Forgive me if this isnt right as I am a Cleveland fan (AL) but I thought a double switch was this
                    - your pitcher needs to be replaced
                    - your pitchers batting slot is coming around fairly soon
                    - so rather than just replacing the pitcher and then having to pinch hit in the next inning
                    - you replace your 2B (or anyone whose batting slot is a long way off) (for example) with a pitcher and then replace the pitcher with a new 2B
                    - the advantage is that you only use up one bench player and can effectively move the pitcher to a later hitting slot, thus keeping him in the game for longer

Any pitcher can be a fielder if they choose to, but in reality, that would be just stupid.

The only problem with the double switch in this game is that your pinch hitter cannot stay in the game. Other than that, it's fine. However, that's a pretty big deal that he can't stay in.

In case someone is not aware, you have to access the double switch option via the start button. Blazer is right though, if you bring someone in as a pinch hitter for the pitcher, he cannot stay in the game unless it is as a pitcher.
