I was playing against the Twins at the Metrodome and there were 2 outs. My batter hits a pop fly out to the left fielder for the 3rd out. Then he turns around and throws the ball in to the crowd. Has anyone seen this at any other stadiums?

I've seen it a couple times; what I thought was weird was that one time when this animation was queued the player threw it towards the crowd but he was too close to the outfield wall (must've been a foul pop or something) and the ball bounced off the wall and back onto the field instead of up into the crowd. Kind of funny.
