I love the gameplay of MVP after much slider tweaking. I tried MLB and it looks and feels great but the gameplay lacks.

My biggest gripe with MVP is that I cannot walk the CPU because I hit my spots every time. The meter is too easy. I love everything else about it.

My gripe with MLB are that the CPU swings at almost every strike I throw. Even on 3-0 counts when it should be taking, it swings at a strike. Also, the CPU throws way too many strikes. Not real baseball.

I'm appealing to this group because last year I liked ESPN better than the others because of the pitcher/batter confrontations. Now, I've tried to scan as much as I could from the posts but I would like to know if:

    1. Is pitching a challenge so that you don't hit your spots every time?

    2. Will the CPU walk you? Will it have rough spurts when it just loses it for a few batters at a time?

    3. Do you feel like, in general, what you see in a game represents real baseball happenings?

    4. Does the CPU bunt for basehits with the speedsters? Sacrifice?

    5. Does the CPU steal appropriately and take bases aggressively?

If it requires sliders to make some of these things happen, I don't mind. I want the best sim I can get. MVP is so close.
here are you answers from my playing over 65 games in my franchise
    1. yes it is a challenge if you use the pitching variability slider

    2. yes they will walk you, if you use the appropriate sliders

    3. yes

    4. i have not seen this yet

    5. OH YES if you have the sliders set right

as far as the bugs/glitches the only one that i have seen in my franchise is the 0 degree weather, and some commentary messups. the only time my closer didnt get credit for a save is when i made the switch when i was batting. when i made the switch when i was in the field my closer always got the credit

You can make the game play anyway you want with all the sliders that are included.

And ALL bugs/glitches can pretty much be eliminated with SIMPLE work arounds.

            Throatwobbler,

            What a bunch of crap.

            passed balls or many errors

Are you still stuck on this passed ball thing EVEN THOUGH ITS BEEN FIXED!

Geez, I'm not even going to get into it. Game freezes, WHAT game freezes? Haven't seen a one.

Way to ruin an objective post with your lack of objectivity.

You dont remember what happened the first week this thing was released? I'd say there were more people with freezes than there were in MLB06.

It died out because everybody realized that with the stat bugs and other problems this game wasnt worth fixing, so they went to different games and trashed this one (go read through the thread about the dozens of people who couldnt get through one game with the freezing, and note that 90% of them are still posting, only in the MLB06 and MVP05 forum).

The difference between the freezes here and in MLB06 is that it seems like MLB06 is worth trying to get to work, when the easier thing to do with ESPN was just give up on it.
I creating Ryan Langarhans and put him in the braves roster, but not only my entire braves roster changed but other teams roster changed too. Why is that. Now if the braves or other teams trade or sign players, there will be no point for chsnging it. If u don't have online like me, u be sad too.

I've played tons of games and have NEVER had my game freeze on me. Am I just lucky? I'm not sure. But it's not a problem for everyone, that's for sure.

I think because people gave up. Its funny because I bought the PS2 version because I bought into the idea that maybe it was my brand new phillips drive on my xbox.

The Ps2 one freezes more than the xbox. At least MLB06 doesn't freeze, so I got lucky there!

                            lol, interesting logic allthough flawed.

I think what happened is that the people that were expieriencing the freezing problems with 2K5 took it back for MLB2006 or MVP thinking those games were " perfect" Then they were stuck with $40 games . Most of them arent going to loose more money on trading those in in return for 2K5 again.

Also most of the freezing was with people with weaker systems. You dont see many posts about these issues either anymore. Everytime a new game is released you see the freezing issue threads. Difference I see is that with 2K5 the freezing is an effect of weaker xbox or PS2 drives that cant handle the load. Where as with mlb2006 it seems the game program itself is the culprit.

So the the three month old Phillips drive on my XBox and my brand new PS2 that I bought last Saturday have weak drives and the only games that have ever frozen up on either of them are Kush games... they have weak drives and it has nothing to do with the game?

                                Mmm-hmm.
