Guys! Go over to 2K Sports forums & there are members posting screenshots for the player edit limit. It's confirmed now but as always we have no answers. Should we be that surprised? It's the MLB 2K series you know! I still haven't even opened my game box for MLB 2K10 yet.

I have The Show however. I know what I'm gonna be doing until this is addressed/fixed for MLB 2K10. It's a shame really after what we were told. It's a game killer for me because I'm a franchise guy. If it's not fixed then it's back to Gamestop for me. :o

Same for me this is a game killer i cant believe 2k left this in the game i mean show can have unlimited roster editing why cant 2k have the same

man both games got some major issues this year.

I wish I had a PS3 though because there is a better shot that The Show will address the issues.

I wonder what the trade in value for 2K10 is at gamestop? The still have the 50% deal going on so I may go ahead and cut my losses.

Can you still edit ratings, etc? That picture they posted at 2k said there is no room to edit any more NAMES. Can you edit players directly in franchise this year (like in MVP 05)?

This is exactly why I didn't pick up the game this week, I knew something would pop up and as a franchise player that wants all correct minor league players this sucks. I'd like to say maybe they'll patch it, but they didn't last year so I'm not getting my hopes up.

You can still have unlimited edits with player stances,pitches,windups,etc. The player edit limit pertains to player name changes. Even though you can edit things like stances you'll find out that things like positions & appearances can't be edited.

This is a major pain because 2K Sports has the wrong skin color on too many players. It's a mess plus it's nearly impossible to match prospect names to what 2K has put into the names. Way to go 2K Sports!

Glad I caught this thread when I did... I simply rented from Blockbuster this year- been dicked w/ this same issue in franchise mode forever it seems like. I had a feeling it wouldn't be fixed, don't ask me why... while I like a lot of the features it looks like they added, and I think the gameplay is fine- I won't be buying this game and I considered it for a second. It's already 2 days late since Blockbuster brought back their late fees, and each day it's another $1 down the drain. I'll bring it back tomorrow...

If they patch the roster editting issues, this is a game I would be willing to commit to buying and I'd be albe to void off the urge to buy a PS3 maybe one more year. But if they don't patch this, come July... PS3 + The Show, which I really don't want to do because it would be the only video game I would play for the system. But I want to play a baseball franchise bad. And this isn't going to cut it... the minors are completely jumbled as is and that's without having to take renaming and all of the other edits (that you can't even do lol) into effect.

This stinks. I heard about the limit, but I had assumed there would be some work-around or I could live with a top-100/whatever the limit was. But the fact that prospects and minor leaguers from other teams are randomly spun about the league, and then there are players who are just outright excluded entirely. Seems like another dud unless the patches really take care of things.

Just once I'd love to be able to start a baseball franchise at the beginning of baseball season... OOTP really is the only baseball game worth owning anymore if you can't afford to own 2 systems/aren't a PS3 owner by default and don't feel like dabbling in the cpu MVP mods anymore, 5 years after the fact .... ugh. just disappointing.

This is complete Garbage, and 2k should be ashamed. I have had my friends asking me if they should get 2k, and I tell them hell no. Franchise takes up 95% of my time when im playing MLB games, and the fact that i can't get accurate rosters is straight embarrassing. The sad thing is the lies, saying there are no edit roster limits. I don't know about you guys, but i wouldn't have minded paying 5 or 10 extra bucks for this game, for 2k to purchase the license to use minor league player names and likeness, just sad.

I was pretty excited to finally be able to retire NCAA Football 10, and NCAA Basketball 10, but it looks like thats all the sports games i will be playing for a while. Im serious considering just returning this crap right now, but i will wait until opening day for some sort of patch on the roster limits, but God knows the 2K's devs incompetence will somehow crush that dream of mine.

does anyone know the exact number of editable names. i think it was 200 last year and 50 created players. if thats the case then i can work with it.

It's actually 150 editable player names & 50 CAPS. I've expressed my feelings over at 2K Sports forums. I don't expect to see anyone from 2K Sports step up & give any answers either.

I think i got to 90 or so players and got the stupid message!!
Why must they be frauds and lie about limits!! I spent money on my favorite effing sport and wanted to have realistic rosters for every single damn team but now unless theres a patch..which i doubt there will be..i can't have realistic rosters thank u so much deeply 2k sports u have continued to make ur customers hate u for ur ignorance!!!

It doesn't look like this is being fixed in the next patch based on the list of fixes on the 2ksports message board.
