    Re: mkharsh33 MLB 2K11 ROSTERS (360 ONLY)

    Guys, it appears the demand here has diminished so I believe I may just call it a season. I will probably do some small pitching edits for my own personal use, but I am certain they won't be good enough to please the masses here. So the file / information posted on page 1 will probably be it for this year. Again, I'm 39, married, father of 4 kids (ages 6-12) and have a full-time vocation that calls for 45-50 hours per week (though I have a flexible schedule, there are sometimes 15+ hour days). I don't think people fully understand that. And when I create a pitcher or batter, I review sites that give information, pictures, videos - I try to get them accurate. Each created player can sometimes take up to 20 minutes to create. When the rosters were expanded (Sept. 1) there were a TON of players called up not in the game. I worked on them for two days, and that took nearly 10 hours alone just to get them created correctly... It's stuff like this that people don't fully understand, or even appreciate. I don't want pity or pats on the back, but I vowed I would give this up when I started getting into debates about things.

    I grab other roster files here from for other games. I have NEVER ONCE made a complaint about them... I am just thankful. I'm not pointing fingers, so I'll just let this post speak for itself and will most likely not provide any more feedback in this forum. Thanks for understanding... We'll see what 2k12 looks like and go from there...

      Howell is stuck on the DL - there are two of him for a reason that was explained months ago (without creating him you'll never be able to use him. It's on 2K's end, not mine. I'm using the same file from months ago. I cannot restart it now as HOURS and HOURS of work is p!ssed away). Thanks.

        I'm not saying restart it, I'm saying download the official roster, look at the pitchers only, copy down ratings and make the changes to your file. I'm on your side and appreciate all the hours you put in. If not, I can do it myself.

          ...which again, is hours of work.

          here's a better idea. i'll upload one more file that has all transactions updated. let SOMEONE ELSE take up this project, and just note that you're using my base file so it gets the proper attention. My .02.

            lmao you ask for feedback then get upset when you get it, you then say you don't update ratings much but then you say you constantly update them. as for the phillies i just brought them up because they are the team i use in my franchise and they are the team i know about.. i also said to lower people on the phillies but you probably didnt read that either so you can shut up about the favorite team. all you do is complain about doing the rosters updates so why do you keep doing them? why do you feel so entitled to do something that makes you so upset? all i did was offer feedback where it was asked.. but thanks for the mid-life crisis. i guess the 3k people that actually download the file each update and the few people that use this forum got your head too big to wanna actually answer a question about the ratings. for the final time there was no attack on the ratings, it was a simple question of how you got there. sorry that offended you so much but it seems like you're taking some other frustration from your real life out on me on these forums. good luck with the fam now that you aren't semi-updating this file anymore i hope everything goes well

                look how you acted. i asked a question, instead of answering you got defensive, acted like i only wanted my team rated correctly, said you've put more time than you should've into this, and pretty much blew me off. i tried responding twice in a mature matter explaining myself because for some reason i felt some kind of respect and i didnt want you to take it the wrong way. to which you responded in the same egotistical manner. i get it you are the almighty mkharsh on the 2k forum and im glad you got to that point. but you have the same kind of os login as me and when you ask for feedback and i give it i didn't expect for it to turn into that.

                i replied with that last post completely out of line but re-read what you've said. you asked for feedback, i gave it to you. you said i was biased towards my team and i tried to back up my points with statistical evidence. i didn't try to turn this into a 3 page argument but im by no means going to be portrayed to be a pompous *** after trying actually be nice.

                  All the time harsh spends patrolling these threads and on 2K's threads seems like hours of work he could be spending updating the ratings. I also noticed 2K bumped up Mayberry's power numbers on the last official update, so maybe duhitsrandy is on to something.

                    mk.. you been around long enough, you cant ever please everyone (you already know that)..

                    keep doing what your doing, bc more guys like me etc appreciate your hard work and hours you put into sliders and rosters for all the games.

                    no need to stop bc of certain guys, just hit the ignore button and continue on.

                    i personally cant wait for the final version of the rosters.

                      Yeah, I'm on the verge of picking this game back up and would certainly use your end of the year roster set.

                        Re: mkharsh33 MLB 2K11 ROSTERS (360 ONLY)

                        Need a favor...

                        Would like some feedback on how to translate basic ratings from real statistics into the game... Example: batting averages between .200 to .210 would be in the contact range of _____________? And put together a scale for:

                        1) batting contact
                        2) batting power
                        3) pitcher stats

                        Just to clear the record, I'm not having a mid-life crisis (as suggested here). That was a bit funny. Also, I'm not this arrogant pr!ck that needs pats on the back. Funny, but when anyone steps up to do rosters, and puts a lot of time into them, they are automatically labeled as arrogant (or something like that). I took up this task because, just in case no one here has noticed, no one else has. There are no multiple 360 rosters provided here... LTrain8 did a lot of work with prospects, and after messaging him, we wanted to put his work into my file.

                        But I'm willing to put all the nonsense here aside and ask for feedback on how to develop a ratings system.

                        One more thought: if a guy is 1) a prospect or 2) not an everyday player, I want some freedom to tweak based upon the limited statistics, using his track record. Also, I rate relief pitchers slightly lower than starters. A starter with (say) a 2.80 ERA would get a higher rating than a reliever with a 2.00 ERA.... I believe this is a fair interpretation...

                        Thanks!

                          For batting contact simply take something like this:
                          avg. = contact
                          .40 = 99
                          .35 = 89
                          .30 = 79
                          .25 = 69
                          .20 = 59
                          .15 = 49
                          .10 = 39
                          .05 = 29
                          I would recommend to lower the contact for rookies and players with few games. I did it like this for my own roster like in the other post mentioned.

                          For batting power - hm. Is it only the homerun-rating? I don't have really a clue here how to sort it out. You could perhaps take the ab/hr stat. But then I don't know how to arrange it. I simply made it by "feeling" in my roster.

                          For pitcher stats I can't give you something right now. I am still trying to figure it out myself. Problem for me is the contact rating. Seems you got to make the contact rating quite low in the 60s for most of the pitchers, otherwise you produce to much guys with an overall rating of 80+.

                          Your mentioned "thoughts" sound quite interesting and perhaps I will try them out myself.

                                Appreciate this... fielding ideas and am thankful you posted.

                                Here's what I'd like to see:

                                .330-.340 =
                                .320-330 =
                                .310-320 =
                                .300-.310 =

                                And on down the line, all the way down to .190 (which seems to be the low mark. Anything lower won't be hard to adjust.

                                Regarding Brew's comment above: I've done rosters now for TWO years - this is only my second year of doing them. I never claimed they were "perfect" and in doing these for only my second year, I'm humble enough to ask for help. I've contacted a Mod regarding your attitude and am hopeful they will take into consideration what I wrote them. There are many great people who post here and have been helpful. It is unfair to shun them away because of your ignorance and arrogant posts, constantly putting down people.
