While you're getting the rosters off your hard drive bugle987, I don't suppose you'd be able to upload the patch along with the rosters would you? There are a number of us that aren't able to get the title update and if you know how, we would really appreciate it.Comment

Hey guys, first off, a HUGE thanks for doing this. My son (10yrs old) and I are really looking forward to getting updated rosters players. I'm offline myself, so this is a must for us.
Just to confirm, there are no posted roster updates yet by you guys right? If so, please direct me to where I can get them (and maybe a brief tutorial on how to get them to the 360) if possible.
If I may put in a wish list, if you could knock out the Brewers (my team) and the Cardinals (my sons team.... I have tied to disown him) that'd be incredible. I would LOVE to start up a new season with the proper rosters as the default ones are way, way off.

Breaking news with what I'm doing: I decided to get going a couple days ago, as I realized I didn't want to take mkharsh's final work and use it as my own. So I took one of his earliest versions just to have Manny and Darvish and guys like that and most of the top prospects names already in the game, ( I don't know what version it was around 4 i think). I have re done most of top 100 prospects using scouting reports from Keith Law and Todd Mayo and other sources. I have already re done all the MLB pitchers pitch types and speeds. It took me about 5 minutes for each pitcher and I did about 13-15 per team, so it took me about 35 hours in all to do that. How I did was i used 3 websites involving pitch fx and fangraphs, and another good website. I used average speed, whiff percentage, and percent strikes thrown to determine the pitch quality and speed. Most MLB pitchers have decent break on most of their breaking balls or off speed pitches. So this meant that unless in an extreme circumstance every pitchers pitch had at least a break of 60 or above which took away those 34 slider rating or whatever that pitchers like Bartolo Colon or others had. I also changed some of their Vs. lefty or vs. righty ratings if they were way off. Next thing, I will not have people who are injured on AAA or minors, unless it is a season ending injury. I am doing these for franchise, and once you start one the team puts them right back in the majors (unless your using 30 team control). So I will put the accurate 25 man roster out their just with the injured players replacing their replacements. Like B.J. Upton and Andrew Bailey will all be on their. You can remove them if you like. I will post version 1 sometime tomorrow. And then I will continue to finish AAA rosters and most of the young top prospects. I will hopefully finish all this by Thursday or Friday and then put the Opening Day rosters in and then give you my final version. As the season goes on I'll make minor tweaks and add some more prospects, but I'm also going to want to start my Tribe franchise. This roster should be way better than 2k's original as the pitchers are as accurate as they can be. I did this last year and it really changes the game. Look at all the pitchers on your team or others and see if I maybe made a mistake and let me know. I don't just throw names out there either for prospects, I research them like mkharsh, and take pride in coming up with accurate depictions of them. It bugs me if the player is just slighty off. I do prospects by making them slighty less in pitch eye or composure or control, because it accurately describes a minor league player. Someone who just can't control his pitches or read the breaking balls against lefties (A.k.A Bryce Harper) So, Ill post the first version tomorrow and let me know what you guys think. I'm just a teenager balancing sports, school, and other stuff with this. I love doing this though and have spent hours on this and I want to make it worth something.

I appreciate what you're doing, but this also frustrates me. We could be working TOGETHER on this, but instead we're doubling up efforts, and in essence, wasting time. I feel a sense of animosity from you as you stated you would work together with me. I just don't get it... I'm glad that you've got something going on, but it would really be great for the OS community if our efforts could be compiled. But, to each there own... I asked you to be patient with me, as I was putting great attention to detail into this file. But that's your decision... No hard feelings on my end, just wish we could have been doing this together and got more accomplished. Take care...STEELERS INDIANS CELTICS

I understand you want to get started but I don't get why you'd wanna splinter off and have two big rosters. its just a base roster you can always go ahead after and adjust ratings and release it as your roster after but I would love to play with mks roster using your pitcher speed/repertoire and accessories edits.
I plan to take the batting stances listed in another thread for all 30 mlb teams which are better than default imo and put them on mks roster either officially if he wants or for myself, but all 3 of those aspects combined would make for a truly awesome experience. then after that is all set you could seperately make rating edits but it seems illogical to not combine efforts, it could all be done in a few days the season hasn't even really started yet. its a shame it wont happen you have good ideas. ill still check out your work enjoyLast edited by BrianU; 04-03-2012, 11:25 AM.Comment

When PortlandBlazer and I worked on historic rosters for NBA 2K11, we communicated very well with each other. We provided each other with notes, and made it clear what years we would each work on. By doing so, we provided the community here with nearly 20 years worth of COMPLETE NBA season rosters. He even took a couple files I did and hex-edited them, and it was a blast working with him. Now, we could have just thumbed our noses at each other and tried to prove who was best, but I acknowledged that he was much better at player models that I was. I was more into roster research, statistics, and player attributes/tendencies. We busted our butts on that, and NBA 2K11 will live forever in my game library (and I receive 2-3 requests PER DAY for those roster files that I've put into 2 zip folders).
This is what I was getting at... We could have took the base file I worked on, that now has a TON of prospects. You could have then picked up and worked on the AA players (which is where I left off, for the most part).
I sense the guys over at The Show threads work well together... Here? I don't think we get it... We've NEVER had a good complete roster file. I was hopeful this would be the year since 2K12 is a great game. But I guess that still won't happen...
I'll just shut up from here, because I know where this is going to go. I'll be labeled as arrogant (trust me - it's happened before). But I think we have some truly talented people here that could do a great job working on an isolated file...
I sense instead of working together...this is about proving a point and name recognition.... And because of that, we're all gonna miss out on what could have been...
